His name should be If He Can Stay Healthy Joe Ngata.
I want him to put it all together this season so bad.
He could be Mike Williams level, 1,000 yard season level good…although I’d be happy with Cornell Powell’s 2020 season.
He’ll need an Amari Rogers though and I guess my bet would be EJ as a breakout #2.
Obviously, DJ and the O-line need to do their part, but Ngata could be the offensive MVP… if he stays healthy.

As Dabo once said - the best ability is availability. We always said that about employees. Someone might be the most talented employee, but if they don’t show up for work, they are not doing anyone any good. I understand that in football, injuries are usually unavoidable, but the result is the same.

For all of Swinney’s no doubt well-deserved praise, Ngata has demonstrated he cannot be depended on. Let’s all wish him the best, and coaches should have his backup taking just as many practice reps because history shows Ngata will be out soon. His backup may be better and more dependable with some reps.

Diet and weight room are really what these guys need. They don’t take it seriously and before they know it, they are going to be seniors and can’t stay healthy. It’s a rough, tough sport and they have to be in peek shape to avoid some injuries. Good luck to him this year and Go Tigers.

Is conditioning and dedication really his problem? Or is he just snakebit with the injury history.
I have no idea. Curious if that is his reputation.

“I’ve always had a good amount of fat,” Ngata said. “I’m losing weight and I’m taking the weight room a lot more seriously. My diet’s changed a lot.

Injury is often due to lack of flexibility. Not just muscles but ligaments/joints.
