Always amazing how these guys can change their bodies between end of season

Mar 13, 2021, 8:58 AM

And draft. I know they’re constantly going through seasons, school, being a young man in college but you wonder if some of this can happen between junior and senior season?? Not complaining I’ll never forget TE but I can only imagine a 215 lb back running a 4.4 40 who has gone the next level with catching the ball. He could wreak havoc. Especially if OL can give him the first couple of steps. So happy for Travis. Fun story. Hope he continues to grow as a man and wish him all success.

I watched his 40 time video several times. He definitely looked a bit thicker. I couldn’t imagine having to tackle him at full throttle. He would break me.
Great kid, great Tiger. Gonna miss seeing 9 in orange.

His legs look like tree trunks. He will generate even more

tackle breaking lower body ability than he did here. That, is scary for anyone trying to bring him down.

I agree, and I have often wondered the same about how they can change their bodies getting ready for the NFL, and I say why couldn't they have done that while playing college ball. I could see it as a plus for our team, and a plus for when scouts are watching them play their collegiate ball. ETN at 5'10", and with his speed @ 4.40 caring 215 on pro day, just think of how better he could have been in college with the same speed and weight that he displayed for the NFL coaches and owners.

I hope that this is something that Dabo is seriously looking at. If these guys can change their bodies to make a showing for the NFL folks, why can't it be done at the collegiate level? I mean we were seriously pushed around by OSU. Just maybe our strength, and condition program needs some adjustments made to get our players up to NFL size, and especially with our strength!!!!

And NOOOO, I'm not suggesting that anybody should be fired, or replace. I'm just saying that more should be put into maximizing our players size, and strength by the time they are entering their junior season. Doing that, it would allow our guys to be perform at their maximum strength, and size in post season play. The OSU players looked ready for the NFL, why can't ours be the same?

Our best players were matched up to the OSU best players, and we got manhandled on both sides of the LOS, and it was obvious which team was the strongest and in the best shape, just saying, am I wrong?

Most college players do go through a change...

Mar 14, 2021, 2:20 PM

especially when they get to campus as freshmen. The change for the NFL is a different training regime, usually conducted by NFL knowledgeable trainers... The college game has a different need, so the training reflects the needs of the college program. ETN carried that well for one day and without contact. Most skill guys start a season at one weight but typically end up going through the season and actually losing weight until they completely fill out as an adult, then, they remain consistent in their weight through out a season... just different factors in making a change and maintaining that change...

I've been trying to drop 15lbs for like a decade now ...

Mar 13, 2021, 10:55 AM

Perhaps Clemson could start a Fat Farm for middle aged/old(er) Tiger fans ? Strength Coach could start a Camp where we all pretend we are Clemson Tigers Athletes and get the same conditioning regimen as the Athletes but we get to drink as much beer as we want (diet beer). Of course, regime adjusted depending on how much of a mess you are.

Trying to follow the same conditioning regimen as the athletes for a week would probably kill most of us older Tiger fans. I think I’ll stick to trying to be the best beer drinker I can be at this age.

I'd try it.......... with a couple of 'new' knees.***
