Clemson safety details playing with a torn shoulder, nerve damage

Early in Clemson’s game at Notre Dame last November, safety Lannden Zanders picked himself up off the grass, winced in obvious pain, and gingerly walked to the sideline. Social media, as it often does, went ballistic, blaming the Shelby, NC, native for anything and everything wrong with the defense.

A healthy Lannden will make a difference Sept. 4th. Stay well 36.

A tough young man. Puts "next man up" myth in perspective - with weak secondary there was no next man up in 2020 that could cover or tackle as was evident in Ohio State game. Fortunately 2021, 2022 and 2023 DB & S talented options have grown exponentially.

A good reminder for us not to be quick in criticizing our guys. Many of them play the best they can with a lot of pain and we condemn them from our easy chairs.

I was thinking the same thing since we have an element in our fanbase that will rip kids apart and say stuff like "they're lazy" or just doesn't want to put in the work. Recruits see that kind of stuff and if we're not careful it will affect what kids pick Clemson. Prayerfully none of them see that craziness.

I appreciate & respect him playing through the pain. Torn rotator cuff hurts like crazy. Can’t imagine playing FB with it. Hope this is a great year for him. Go Tigers!
