Clemson at No. 5 in the CFP rankings? That's ok, these Tigers have long memories

And those stats are with over a hundred players

Nov 6, 2019, 10:39 AM

seeing action in some games and third stringers playing big minutes and giving up almost all the points and yardage. Doesn't anyone realize that. And what were the results of all of the games when we last played each of those teams ahead of us? And were they all favored to beat us?

The way it appears to me, most of the committee have not watched Clemson's games. Highlights are skewed. If you watched ESPN's highlights of Louisville, you saw 2 Lawrence interceptions and a punch by Booth! That's it! They did not see 45-14, with most (if not all) of L'ville's 14 points scored against back-ups.

The final was actually 45-10...

Well maybe more of them will get to watch them this weekend since its on ABC prime time. I think if Clemson continues to play like they have recently they might even jump Pen st with all eyes on them.

Re: David ...good article .. my thoughts

Like most of you I'm fired up and not real happy...even knowing if we win out we should be ok. Hoping is not a plan but Dabo has a plan, so I'm not really worried about it.

Here's why this really might be great though. I was concerned how we were going to stay hungry, as in the eye of the Tiger. Really. As in, complacency that's natural for teenagers and moving from the hunter to the hunted.

I have loved the underdog mantra....it's free, subconscious motivation....something like that. How can we go from the only 15-0 team and be THAT hungry this year. Yes we all know Dabo plays one game at a time and last year is over...but NO ONE is immune to complacency... even Alabama and Clemson.

But now..... it's all taken care of for us. Winning takes care of itself but if they're not feeling disrespected now, they're not alive.

We all want the respect that comes with being the Elite. We may not have that for awhile still as much as we should. But therein lies the motivation.

We may just lose a game .. or two.. who knows. But I wouldn't bet on it.

You don't think they're going to open up a can ?...… oh wait... we already have.

Penn State? Ask Vegas who would be favored in a Clemson vs Penn State match up.

Keep an undefeated ACC champ out at your peril, Selection Committee. There is no quicker way to invalidate the whole ill-conceived approach to deciding a D1 National Champion. Assuming the Tigers finish 14-0, Clemson nation will declare Clemson to be the co-national champion, and next year there will be an 8 or 16 team playoff like D2 and D3.

I doubt they would do that. No one is upset now but us but if they somehow left us out then every school would be screaming that they need to expand the playoffs except for bama and the other 3 teams in. They know they are going to expand at some point but there has to be a public outcry to get the powers that be to stop counting their made money and change the system. That's how we got the playoff in the first place. It's how it will expand too.

I just don't understand why the decision makers don't see there is more money to be had by expanding than staying with 4. It makes since to everyone else. 5 conference champs, the highest ranked group of 5 champion, and two at large selections from the rankings seems more than logical to me.

I like this idea.... Committee picks 6 best teams not playing in power 5 conference championship games. Those 6 play the same day as the conference championship games. Winners advance. That makes a 16 team playoff. Gotta win your conference championship game to advance and everyone plays the same number of games.

I sure as H E L L hope that the playoff system don't change bc we were wronged and left out of the playoffs, and IMPO, that would be as wrong as two men humping each other. And I'm not trying to offend anyone, but to me personally, there is something wrong with that bc it's not natural, and if it was meant to be, we all would have been the same sex!!!

Oh dear God I hope we get the opportunity to run up the score against the Gamecocks. Coach has been very good about getting everyone to play and this is the reward.

I’m hoping we get the chance to do something really egregious to show our dominance, like going for 2 after a TD even through we’re up by four TDs.
