Bloody Skalski says Tiger defense had to fight for win over Georgia Tech
James Skalski made the biggest play of the game on Saturday against Georgia Tech, stuffing the shovel pitch to the tight end on fourth-and-goal to seal the Tigers’ 14-8 victory in Death Valley. The linebacker walked back to the sidelines after the play, his pants covered in blood from a cut he suffered on the drive, and was held up by his teammate KJ Henry after putting his body on the line. It is always give and take. You do what you need to win. Otherwise, the D owes the offense for the next two seasons.

We were given the tight end shuttle pass lesson on the field a few years ago. I don't think Skalski has forgotten it or ever will.

Did that last defensive play at the West end of DV Saturday remind anyone else of Boulware and the 2 point try for ND? Skalski just didn’t have the energy left for a somersault after the play.

Tell you what, if I were an NFL GM I'd take Skalski. The heck with the physical metrics. This man can play football and decipher what's coming better than anyone. I hope somebody is thinking like this. Raiders?

Yeah, I've seen where they call the H back a sniffer, but I think he means it in regards to a defensive player, usually a linebacker, who can pick up what the offense is about to run. If so, I totally agree that Skalski is a NFL grade valuable defensive sniffer.
