TBH, gaslit sounds so much cooler. Kind of a continuous of lit. As in, “this game is lit” no to be referred to as “THIS WHOLE GAME IS GASLIT”. Remember, you heard it here first. Carry on.

Are you tired of gaslighting that has been done in general, or the word itself?

That's Merriam-Webster's word of the year (translated: liberal talking point of the year)!
https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/word-of-the-yearWord of the Year 2022 These are Merriam-Webster's Words of the Year for 2022. Topping the list is 'gaslighting,' followed by words that inspired a large number of lookups from politics, pop culture, and international conflict.

I’d say it’s a pretty clear indicator of scock usage since it as only showed up in a regular basis in the last week. Mostly by low volume old accounts who are uniformly trashing the team.

and they may become salty and ghost you. Then, you would have to catfish them to get back into a relationship. If you must try catfishing it better be on fleek or you may get caught.

It's all the same - trying to manipulate another person or group's thoughts in your favor. Most coaches attempt this tactic to deflect negative attention from themselves. Only a few folks will actually be manipulated - usually those one's that did not see the game/play in question. It's very entertaining to witness it.

I remember watching an old movie on TV with my mom named "Gaslight" when I was a small child. It was made in the 1940s. The word "gaslighting" is derived from the play that inspired that movie. So, it's not new, just a revived term.
