Not bad considering games were played an hour away from campus and the student body

That is sad considering every game I went to it was more than half empty

according to this list

Jun 9, 2016, 2:57 PM

when LJ was 10,000 the best we could possibly be is 43rd in the nation

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

then you missed the best games...

Jun 9, 2016, 2:59 PM [ in reply to Re: Tigers were 53rd of 346 in Div I basketball attendance ]

for the Louisville, Dook, and Miami wins the avg was over 10,000

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

that actually probably helped, I think we probably

Jun 9, 2016, 3:06 PM [ in reply to Re: Tigers were 53rd of 346 in Div I basketball attendance ]

got more Greenville/Spartanburg people that otherwise wouldnt have made the trip for a 7pm game during the week. The students attendance record was questionable even when the games were at LJ

and if you've ever been in Northern Utah

in mid-Feb, the term "middle of no-freakin'-where" takes on a new layer of meaning..a basketball game is probably a major social event...(of course, many Tiger fans lament the sizeable population increase in the Seneca/Clemson/Pendleton/Central area in the last couple of decades).I imagine Logan's grown considerably since I visited there, but suspect there still ain't much goin' mid-week in the winter

I don't get this defense

Jun 9, 2016, 4:06 PM

i hear it for Nebraska football as well

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

so we averaged 8,700

Jun 9, 2016, 3:01 PM

isn't littlejohn reducing to around that much? Was it really a good idea to reduce capacity?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

average was less than 8,000 the year before in LJ

Jun 9, 2016, 3:03 PM

remains to be seen if the reduction in capacity was a good idea...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Leaders are worried about more people watching, they're more

Jun 9, 2016, 3:08 PM

looking forward to the supply/demand issue, driving up revenues in the event the team gets on a multi-year hot streak. More IPTAY donations required, higher per seat rights fees, higher ticket prices. It was a smart business reason on that end, including tricking better players to coming to play at Clemson.

whoops: should be "aren't worried"***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

would be interesting to see it as % of capacity

Jun 9, 2016, 4:05 PM

Comparing the 14-15 season in LJ to last year in the Well, Attendance went up in absolute terms, but as a percentage of capacity, it went down considerably

If the 16-17 team can draw as well or better than the 14-15 team, we’ll be looking at around 90% capacity as an average

One thing for sure, the opening game this November will be have big crowd (a sell-out?) , unlike the opening games of the last few seasons
