with UVa and now just have one day to get ready for us on the road, and we are well rested with plenty of practice time to get ready for their junk defenses. We have depth too and they only play 7 most of the time. I'd be shocked if we don't play well and win looking at those factors.

Can they play better on the road?
The games at Notre Dame & Pitt will be tough.
Notre Dame in particular has been playing better recently.
But first things first...beat GT!

well, we are 1-4 on the road with losses to Duke, VT, GT and FSU - Kinda shaking your head when Duke is the weakest of the group and the only team below .500 in conf play.
If we can't win @ ND and @ wake, then we have other issues as a whole traveling as loosing to a bad team on the road is different than a decent team.
I think Pitt is the best test for a road game.

Notre Dame is actually pretty decent....

If you examine Notre Dame’s schedule...they are not a bad team. Wake is...but here is what Notre Dame has actually done....
Early in season...lost to Michigan St, Duke & Purdue.
Since conference play kicked into gear...
Lost to UVA Twice
Lost to Va. Tech Twice
Lost by 1 point at UNC
Lost by 2 points at GT
Have beaten Miami, BC, Wake, Pitt, and won at Duke. Come to think of it...they blew Pitt out on the road.
In other words....they are guilty of losing to the highest ranked teams in conference and losing a couple of close ones to some decent teams.
We barely scrapped by in our one road win against Miami....it certainly counts, but it was close. And our recent road showings have been blowouts.
It’s winnable...but I think the Notre Dame & Pitt road games are equally tough. Wake...not so much.

They are an odd team that is both better than their record but also do not have a decent win over a team ABOVE .500 in ACC or otherwise. Their best wins would be either Duke or Kentucky, but both teams are having horrific years. Thus the Pitt is the shining spot. Against the top 4 ACC teams, they are 0-4, we are 2-3. While we are struggle on the road, they are not playing well at home either (they have lost more home games than we have lost period. They also struggle against defensive teams (UVA, VT, GT).
Are they a bad "BC team"? No, but at the same time, they have not beaten a better team and they have not held serve at home.
If we are going to be a better team this year, we need to beat ND

Mississippi State away from Littlejohn at neutral site tournaments. So although those don't count as true away games, we have certainly shown an ability to win on the road.
Although our official away record is 1-4, if you include the three road games above from "neutral site" games in tournaments, our actual road record is 4-4.
I mention this only because I keep seeing mention of how bad we are on the road, which is misleading.

Road games are not the same as neutral games, even in pandemic times. To say otherwise is misleading.
You could say we are undefeated on neutral courts. That would be right on. And you could make a case that we could prepare for tournament success in light of that!
But in regards to true road games...especially since the calendar turned, and when you consider the margin of said games...let’s just say that we have played like a team that is 1-4 on the road while on the road. We barely got the Miami win. And we all know about the FSU/GT/Duke games...which are much more recent than the neutral court games were.
Thus...the upcoming 3 game road trip will tell us much. I would love to see us take 2 out of those 3...realistically speaking.

just like road games. They weren't played in Littlejohn. They required travel, luggage, staying in a hotel, etc. For all intents and purposes, those were road games even though they are characterized as "neutral site games."
Here's to us taking at least 2 of 3 in our upcoming road games!

Just don’t finish the season on a 2-3 game losing streak. Would be great to win out and run the table at the ACC tournament but we know that’s not happening. As long as we don’t lose more than 3 games through the tournament. We should be dancing.

and/or insinuate that they ever "should" or "are gonna" win ANY game. Thats when they seem to fall asleep. Instead if you act like they're going to lose and have no chance to win, they seem to turn it on. So IMO, #5 is a pipe dream!
