Tigers manage 3 earned runs in 3 games

against powerhouse WV baseball team. My take on the series:
-starting pitching, not bad
-fielding sucks, should have had two more errors charged to us in game 1 and RR misplay of fly ball today
-Pep is still awful. On every 0-2 count the next pitch will be a yard outside. Wasted pitch. I have yet to see anyone chase that pitch.
-swing at too many balls out of strike zone, and too many pop ups
-Danny Cannon still can't sing, but I love him anyway
-Munson is the worst announcer I have ever heard. I am stuck with TigerCast or radio this year. Don't know if I can make the season.
-Looks like a replay of last year. Maybe it's too early and I will gladly eat crow if I am wrong.

Starting pitching is better than not bad. 3 earned runs in 16 innings. And Danny's singing is much like an Ed Wood film, so bad it's good.

it seems to me we have no true broadcasters at the present time calling the baseball games. if not,dan scott back in the booth sounds great to me. he is very knowledgeable about the game and can call it so that the listener can "picture" the game even if they can't be there to see it.

Puts added pressure on the pitching staff. Trying to pitch like we are going up against the 1927 Yankees, even when in a pitchers count...just not smart.

Then we take "excuse me" swings at the plate.

The players act like they're thinking more about Jack's proper mechanics when fielding than just making the play.

Trying to play small ball compounds the pressure.

It's the recipe for playing tight, putting a ton of pressure on your team.

I like Jack, but he's gone from a great staff and ahead of the curve, to being seen as a militaristic coach with an underwhelming staff who's fallen behind the times.

It doesn't help that USC, Coastal are ahead of us in facilities for baseball. Winthrop isn't far behind. We are a solid 3rd in the state in facilities and further down in program status.

It's time.
