TIGER TICKETS

Jul 29, 2021, 6:04 PM

Sad, long tale -- folks with a real life need not read further.

For many years had season tickets and also went to a few Bowl games every year including some Tigers were not in. I had decent seats at several places.
My Bowl travel buddy who did all the driving while I drank beer got too decrepit and had to give it up. For a few years resold most of my BOWL tickets on ebay to keep my seats, then just gave them all up.

My Bride went to all TIGER home games and some places like GT or Georgia Dome. She loved tail gating, and game day dressing up --. Football life was good! She came home excited one day because while getting her hair done in Clemson, Coach Bowden came in for a trim.

Her knees went out. The steep steps in Death Valley were a challenge, so she stopped going. I went a season by myself, but started watching more games on TV and let those seats go.
Now she has two great plastic knees installed by the same CLEMSON doctors that work on Tiger players and can out do me.

Every year I cherry pick a few games and buy a great single seat ticket in the parking lot from some family with an extra. Folks always make me feel like a friend at the game.

I have a smartphone -- don't actually know where it is right now, but I have one. My bill is $2.50 a month at T-Mobile. I just use it as a phone, I don't pay for internet, etc. In the old days a phone was a "PHONE" and mine just does that. No reception at my house but it works well over my WiFi in the unlikely event I need to call an electrician or something. I have zero need of a smart phone plan and the high $$ bill. I understand it is a "must" for 99% of folks, but not a hermit like me.

It looks like for the first year since before many here were born, I might not be allowed in Death Valley to see a game as I can't buy a great seat in the parking lot --> no smart phone.

I do have a great TV.

@tugalooriver® I'm 75 years old and been an IPTAY member for over 50 years. My Wife and I had to stop going to games in 2009 due to health issues. As hard as it was I adjusted quicker than I thought I would. Saturdays are just as exciting as they ever were. I admit I missed the crowd but it also gave me time on Saturdays to watch games with my 97 year old Father-in-law who was a 1943 Clemson Graduate. He has been gone 3 years but I cherish those memories. I guess what I'm saying is enjoy whatever happens and do what is right for you and your Bride! We will always be Tigers! Also no lines to the bathroom and the Snacks are awesome. Go Tigers!

I think you could go in with the person who sells the ticket.

That will work if you find someone

Wit tickets for him and his bride

Will be weird going to games without lots of scalpers at every gate/ if they are still there I would not trust this technology
