Tiger PAW on Alumni flag pole @ Gameday STiLL being diluted b/c

Sep 10, 2022, 10:14 AM

they insist on putting their difficult to read logo flag on top and having the nation's most known logo limply hanging under it.

Appreciate their great service, time & effort but flying TWO large flags is overkill and normally ineffective.

Saying, use 1 flag (PAW) and a line under it stating Clemson Alumni Association which would give credence to both.

Saying: LESS is MORE!!!

That would kill 2 birds with 1 stone and delete the need to ship, handle & place two large flags on a single pole.

As a former Gameday flag waver (JMU, 10/17/2017), I would have to agree.

You volunteer and, if accepted, they express mail two flags. You are on your own to get a pole. You agree to follow the instructions which include flying both flags with the Alumni flag on top. There is nothing forcing you to do it that way other than agreeing to follow the instructions.

I signed up using the link below.

Having done it, the flags are large and fairly heavy. You definitely need a little breeze and have to wave the flagpole. Just standing there and letting them hang does not work. Even waving the pole has issues if the flags get wrapped around the pole.

My flags are still in my living room. I would do it again, but would bring two poles - one following the instructions and the other with only the tiger paw.

I agree, Bill!

Fly one flag only. The paw says it all!

Until someone can do better, I will not say anything negative about what they're doing.
Go Tigers!!!
