obviously not for me, cuz that would be stupid.
Get me with your best MEN's middle of the road pants that arestretchy and not wool but can be paired with a sport coat in a pinch. So like dressyish but comfy and cool. I bought him a pair that he likes that are now discontinued. Think elevated golf pants. I found some Peter Milars but they are polyester and he'd really rather they be cotton with some stretch.
And husband of sells exclusively to heterosexual males so Lululemon is out.

Bonobos stretch chinos. Five different fits so you can find what you like. Great return policy. These pants + dress shirt + sport coat is my work uniform, but they can just as easily be worn w a polo. They have placket pockets and some other small details that lean a little dressier.

Their quality is about as good as it gets.
If you want to go cheaper, you can often find Cole Haan or Florsheim for closer to $100, they aren't as nice but look decent

Shape is fine, they don't look bad. I don't wear black so I'd pass, but I have a pair of brown penny loafers that look a lot like that that I wear pretty often. That isn't a great price point for glued soles though, for another $100 you can get welted soles, or the same product from Cole Haan for $100 less.

a bright blue sport coat that looked sharp with black pants, so needed a pair of shoes for that one outfit.
He has a giant collection of brown/walnut/mahogony whatever you want to call it dress shoes but navy, khaki and walnut/camel/whatever you want to call that brown has gotten boring.
I'm seeing a lot of black shoes with lighter/brown bottoms on high end stuff so it's trickling down to the masses. Mark my words, you'll be seeing more black dress shoes.

I had a chance to pluck on Flea's signature active Jazz bass a while back and I was wowed. Fender has always carried the flag of passive basses but this one was sweet. It's basically an Ernie Ball Music Man single humbucker set up with the thin Jazz neck. Definitely one of the few signature basses that would be worth the money, more times than not sig editions are more style than substance but this one was a player.

I have nice suits for funerals, weddings, church.
Everything else is verrry relaxed casual, jeans or hiking/outdoor pants. Nothing in-between.
I don't do the business casual stuff with sportcoat, slacks and no-tie. Never have, never will. Not a comfort zone for me. If I have to go to an event requiring that, I won't.
