Thursday against Louisville is winnable hear me out!

Start Matt Clark you also have Davis Sharpe first out of the bullpen. Then lindley to close it out. Hold Louisville under 4 runs somehow. The key to that is a long outing out of Clark and good pitching out of Sharpe very winnable.

Even if we beat Louisville we won't advance to the semifinals.

First part of the season yes, second part maybe not, how do you balance that? They played the second toughest schedule in the ACC conference(heard that on the radio yesterday).

But....If the goal is to make the post season so that you at least have a shot do you not want them to go?

They were squarely in today before the game, not sitting last 5 out, squarely in the field. if they win Thursday then they have proven something against a highly ranked team.

I am never going to not want them to make a national tournament, but that is exactly how I take your question to me. You'd rather them not go?

Of course I'd like for them to go...

but I don't think they have played well enough to have garnered an invite.

Legitimate tournament team do not lose to Gardner Webb and PC.

That every year. I think we are a lock - RPI + 15-15 acc regular + 5-1 combined vs UL and UNC does it. Belong based on on full body of work and resume against others- absolutely and don’t think it’s as close as this last 4 in stuff. Granted there are possible bid stealers but doubt as many as basketball has. Do I think this team can win a regional?- nope. They’ll finish 2nd or more likely 3rd in a region- they could easily go O’fer

Clemson is 9 - 16 in its last 25 games.***

The Tigs are 9 and 16 in their last 25 games. That's not a resume for selection to a regional.

31 SOS and 36 RPI. So yes I believe we are deserving of one of the 64 spots.

Going 9 - 16 in the last 25 games tells me otherwise***

I thought we needed two wins to solidify a spot. Now I'm not sure.

Today was a bad loss.

Luckily the first half of the season also counts from what I've heard.

Sure, but like the NCAA hoops tournament...

Well it is a completly a different commitee so idk tho. Ofcourse how you finish matters but the last game means the same as the first game. We are a top 40 baseball team without a doubt.

Yes. Beat UofL and we are in.

Sadly imo, I think we really had to win both. Beating Louisville is a must but I’m afraid we’d have to have a lot of help from other teams... even other teams in the acc.

Optimism is a wonderful thing. Mine ran out about a month ago. Wish it didn't but watching this team not improve on basic fundamentals of baseball was very difficult for me. Back in the day when I played, the more we played together as a team, the powerful we became. Our fundamentals became sound and we seldom made errors in the field or on the base paths. That is what I don't understand about this team. They looked so solid the first month of the season.

Beat them and we're in.

Loze and we're not. Nothing else is really all that relevant, in my opinion.

Hope we win our last game of the season. Build momentum for next year.

Of course it's winnable, it's baseball.

If the NFL had as much parity as MLB, every team would finish somewhere between 6-10 and 11-5, and the record for most ever wins in a season would be about 12. Anything can happen in 1 game of baseball.

I think if we beat UL, we will be in simply due to our facilities and history of being a darn good program. We will draw large crowds too if we host, and they know that. Trust me, sometimes it is just about the $$$$$$$$.
