The sounds of the commencement of Watson's "Heisman campaign" last night. I"m happy we eked this out, but Watson and his receivers better get out in the practice fields right away and start finding some rhythm with some other guys besides Artavis. The flare out passes are only going to go so far as we move along and everyone studies our film. DeS - hoping you and these guys can get it going.

Yes, DW4 looked like a very average sophomore last night. Maybe all of the hype is too much for him right now. However, he is still better than anything the coots have.

They have forced a lot of turnovers this year and will continue to do so. That defense has 6 INT's on the year through 3 games. DW4 had 2, but let's be honest...while they were both pretty poorly thrown balls, Leggett made no adjustment to the ball and Scott fell down.

Agreed, that talk is over. Probably a blessing too. Sometimes guys, especially that young, get wrapped up in the hype etc. instead of focusing on the game. He was definitely not focused. Our schedule sets him up real nice now though with plenty of time to regroup and prepare. 2 home games against solid D-1 opponents will help him get back on track too with what to expect.
Opening up against 2 small schools is nice to get out of the gates but I feel it sets expectations of your opposition a bit low and can build some false confidence. Then hitting the road to an unfriendly environment combined with player quality and speed they haven't seen yet this season made that one a bit hairy...

We still have showcase games for him but with how the plays were called last night, I doubt he gets a real chance to showcase his talents. Bubble screens and swing passes aren't good for the highlight reel.

he would agree with me and many other posters that this was a very sub-par performance for him, and that he expects better of himself Throwing into double coverages, underthrowing it several times, and it goes on. In addition, the hype and big print have got to go away for now and he's got to get better - with his receivers doing the same.

21-30 and 200 yards and 2 tds. Some people dream of that and all that face Louisville will. I agree he had about 4 or 5 bad bad throws but the pressure was on and our OL has to step it up. It was a bad night and still got the W and decent stats. He will only learn and grow from this.

I didn't think either pick was terrible tbh. On one the linebacker made an incredible play and the other, Tay just fell down. Not too worried about those.

No need to worry at all. People acting like DW ain't what we thought. He is more then what we thought. Showed great toughness and durability to me last night by running and taking hits on throws and got up everytime. One off night and still wasnt that bad. We all need to calm down and embrace the greatness cause its only going to get better.
