Those that have had the Rona

Nov 1, 2020, 8:00 AM

How did you know or how did the person you know, know?

Cough, fever? What was the trigger?

I don’t know anyone personally that has had it, except for my wife’s grandma, but all she had was a fever.

A neighbor and a co-workers wife had it....

Nov 1, 2020, 8:15 AM

Neighbor had a blinding headache and then next day a fever and cough.

Co-workers wife woke up with fever and aches.

Both said the sickness wasn’t terrible, but the fatigue following it is brutal. Neighbor said she went upstairs to change clothes to go outside with her kids and fell asleep on the bed because getting up the stairs was all the energy she had.

Neighbors on two sides

older man said it felt like the flu - definitely high fever and loss of appetite, wife of his said a head cold and a mild fever. BTW they had it back in early August, and he still says he has a funny taste in his mouth.

across the street, couple had it, husband was mild, wife (who is the youngest of the four and who is an avid walker, not overweight, etc.) actually ended up in ICU for four days as she had difficulty breathing, has recovered totally (as far as she knows.)

Most had a sore throat early. Like first symptom.

Nov 1, 2020, 8:59 AM

Cough. Aches. Fever. Headache. Loss of smell. Those are the big ones. I only know maybe 10 people who have had it. Closest so far, and closest call, is my BIL. He went hunting in SD 2 weeks ago. Bad idea. Then he exposed MIL and FIL when he got back. Wife and I less. We spoke to him briefly outside in the driveway and he stayed in his car. SIL came in our house though. Told wife he wasn't setting foot in our house for 14 days after. Anyway we're really pushing the chances here. Technically we don't need to quarantine and have a very low chance of getting it from them. MIL and FIL were exposed though at the worst time. Will see with them. MIL has a sore throat. They came by and dropped off Halloween candy for the kids and left.

SIL picks up our middle son from school too. We're watching him. If she escapes we should be in the clear. So far she's fine and her husband is locked away. Lol.

Sore throat seems to be a common early symptom before the cough, fever, etc. Headache too.

Combo of fever, loss of smell/taste, and muscle aches is like 99.9% specific for it. That's what I've seen and heard most commonly from younger people.

A good buddy of mine

Nov 1, 2020, 9:40 AM

From way back in middle & high school buried his father this past Friday.

His dad tested positive maybe two months ago with relatively mild symptoms—lingering cough and general weakness. About two weeks go by, and he got a negative test and cautiously went on his way, since symptoms subsided.

While we were camping about two weeks ago in Tennessee, he got a text from his sister that the dad tested positive again. And again, it was mild symptoms. He started to feel better again by Friday, but on Sunday, was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs.

He died last Monday, Oct 26.

I had it around the end of August

Nov 1, 2020, 8:13 PM

Had a REALLY mild cough starting on a Friday. Woke up Saturday morning, and ran a 5k. After I was done, I remember thinking I was a little more tired from it than usual but nothing crazy. Went home and showered and went grocery shopping.

Around noon I started feeling just plain exhausted. By about 5 pm I was calling ex-wife to tell her not to bring the kids over that evening Bc I thought I was sick. Had no fever that day, but the skin crawling feel and, again, just exhausted.

By the time I was tested on Monday I had a decent fever.

Basically it just kind of hit me suddenly on Saturday and I had no symptoms other that a mild cough and fatigue. Ran a fever for about a week and just laid around the house. Never had any kind of horrific symptoms personally (no sore throat, which to me is the worst). Lost sense of taste, but not smell, on about the 4th day.

All in all it took about two weeks to feel normal again, after my fever broke and I was “better”.
