Saturday night game, traffic growing...

What time do you guys recommend arriving at the campus to park? we have a parking spot we paid for. Been a few years for me and my wife attending a game. Appreciate the help.

If you are not talkng tailgating for a while or visiting downtown, just mostly going to the game and you have prepaid parking-I think if you arrive at Clemson 3.5 hours before you are good.

It gives you some time to get settled once parked or have a few beverages without major tailgate.

Around 6 pm you have 90 minutes before game is Clemson band in the amphitheater at the Cooper Library area. Always nice.

Or you have 2 hours before game at 5:30 is Tiger walk in the pit parking to watch players get off buses at perimeter road and walk into the West End Zone around 5:30. Sometimes traffic can come to a bit of standstill when away team and home team buses come thru heart of campus so I try to be in my places before that from a parking standpoint.

The bigger question is where are you coming from and what do you have to allow for traffic before you get to park? That may have to require some planning but I say if you are parking around 4 pm it will give you more than enough time to also stop off to get some food or sights and sounds pregame that always adds to the night.

If you are heavy tailgaiter well then gates open 8 am for a night game to park so just pull up and toast the Tigers to victory!

Hey Mike, thanks so much. This is a big help. We're probably in that first and second paragraph about not tailgating too much but still want to have a sandwich and beverage.

But we'd still like to see Tiger Walk as well.

Funny story I'll share with you. 2011 vs Wake. My wife's family are grads and fans of that school in the Midlands.... leaving her with leanings toward that school before she met me.

We arrived at that game super early. Way too early, really. Tiger Walk, I wanted to take her to one, "other school" leanings and everything. (My first Tiger Walk, too, although I'm a longtime fan).

We're right up by the area where they enter into the facilities....Tahj Boyd, Dwayne Allen, etc. And then the player I was looking for so I could point him out to my wife....

....at that moment from somewhere behind me, some woman at the top of her voice screams, "SAAAAAMMMMYYY!!!!"

OMG!!! I want my wife to enjoy this day, maybe kinda lean towards to Tigers and some woman behind us is screaming bloody murder that is sure to ruin my wife's trip.

I turn to find out who the h*** that was and I wanted to give them an eat "shishkabobs" look for ruining my wife's first (and probably last) Tiger Walk... and I found the culprit!

I'm like the Aflac duck..."huh?"

It was my WIFE! LOL

"Well, I like Sammy!"

I just shook my head and laughed. She's been orange ever since.... in fact she wants a new shirt/sweatshirt before we go. And she's paid for this trip for my birthday!

Thank you for the guidelines. Been a while and we were in need of some help. Hope to be able to return the favor.
