Actually went to the bank's Twitter account and they didn't deny it.

Let's hope this isn't a canary in the coalmine kind of deal. And don't think for a second that they can't withhold giving you your money. The clause they cited seems legit.

Quick follow-up. Nothing to see here. Seems the UK government just sold a bunch of shares of this bank they bailed out in the 2008 financial crisis, selling at a 50% loss. Nope, that sounds perfectly normal to me.
