Including some in my own family !
I got the vaccine for 2 reasons:
1. I don't want the virus and though it's not 100 % it's the best bet we have.
2. I don't want to continue to wear a mask.
Now all of a sudden since these IDIOTS will not get a vaccine I'm going to have to wear a mask again! NO NO NO !! They are punishing those of us that did the right thing for those that won't. Anyone under 12 that is not eligible sure wear mask. If over 12 and choose not to get vaccinated STAY HOME !! No restaurants, No ballgames, No grocery stores , No jobs !! High school games are being called off. Who knows what's going to happen with college football ? We are back where we were last year because roughly 40-50 % of the people are IDIOTS ! You should not be eligible to play on a team if not vaccinated. I'm tired of this BS because of some of you idiots screaming about " my rights" . How about the rest of us !

This country probably would have been taken over a long time ago if Americans weren't smarter than they are today bc, back then without the vaccines, there wouldn't have been enough people to wage a war, and most that were with the living, they wouldn't have been able to fight in a war.
China knew that the covid virus would run wild through America, bc they knew how arrogant Americans were with their rights of a free country, and their intention were to weaken America with "their" covid-19 virus, and to think that wasn't their intention, then the people in this country are as stupid as China believed we would be....

You mean vaccines that were developed over years or decades, that were extensively tested? Testing that demonstrated few side effects and essentially permanent protection?
Unlike a vaccine developed and delivered into human beings in less that one year after the virus was identified? In the last few decades, we've lived through at least two different emergency virus vaccines (swine flu, H1N1) that harmed a lot of recipients, many of whom are healthcare still living with the consequences of having been forced by their employers to receive the experimental vaccines.
We had prominent politicians like then VP-candidate Kamala Harris and Gov. Cuomo saying they would not take the vaccine because they didn't trust the Trump administrations' FDA to get it right and not to have cut corners. Not to mention we've had Hollywood=types crying for years that vaccines cause autism.
Coronavirus like COVID-19 are one of several family of virus that cause the common cold (along with rhinovirus). We have no vaccine for the common cold because of the mechanics of how these virus work. It seems unlikely that we will have a COVID "vaccine" that works any better than the annual flu shot.
Not to mention that COVID is a disease that is so bad that 40% of people who are infected with it never have any noticeable symptoms. About 50% of people infected have very mild flu-like symptoms that resolve themselves (like colds and flus tend to do) without any medical intervention at all. A small percentage seek medical treatment, and only a very small fraction end up needing hospitalization. These tend to be people with other health issues that compound the danger of the virus.
Flu kills thousands of American every year, but no one ever demanded or expected the world to mask up, businesses to shut down, etc. No one cared one tiny bit about the people who died of the flu. No one called people who might have walked around town with the flu "murderers".
To be clear, I am not saying COVID is the same as the flu. I am saying that while it is somewhat worse than the flu, it is not extraordinarily dangerous relative to the flu. It's not like airborne Ebola (wait, isn't that a racist name for a disease?!). It's somewhat more lethal than the flu OVERALL, but largely because it is about 4-10x more lethal in the 85+ age group and something north of 40% of all COVID deaths have been from 85+ age group.
The vast (VAST) majority of people who get the flu will survive and it seems the vast majority of people who get COVID will survive, albeit at a slightly higher risk of dying. COVID *is* more deadly than the flu. Some people who get the flu will die, despite medicine's best efforts; some larger number of people who get COVID will die despite medicine's best effort.
But COVID deaths are not more tragic than flu deaths.
Will you be wearing your mask every flu season forever now? Or do the thousands on people killed by flu every year not count? Sure, sure, "COVID is different" but I'm not arguing that at all. I'll grant that COVID is more dangerous, especially if one is over 75 and generally unwell already. But people spread the flu virus by not practicing social distance, not wearing masks, not washing hands and thousands, sometimes tens of thousands, of people are killed every flu season. Apparently most of America is just fine with [10-90K flu deaths] EVERY YEAR and always have been.
You HAVE to wear the mask IF IT SAVES EVEN ONE LIFE, isn't that the mantra?

Answer to your question: One who opts out of those vaccines might die or be crippled, or they might not. Their decision would not have an effect on those effectively vaccinated. They could transmit it to the unvaccinated or those who had an insufficient immune response to the polio or smallpox vaccine. I hope that helps.

That was back in the day when Americans could trust their government. So much corruption, lies, coverups, etc.(I could go on and on) and then the citizens became divided themselves.
Printing money like toilet paper, untruthful, biased media, hate of police, disrespect for our flag, national anthem and military...
We're going down the drain one way or another, seems it's just a matter of when.
I've had both my Pheizer vaccines. I was actually on the fence but I had to choose and I'm satisfied with my choice right or wrong.
The country is divided on the vaccine as we are with every damb thing else.
I"m going to live my life without fear. Not total darkness but with common sense, discernment and respect for others.
I'd like to close by saying I attempt to stay halfway on top of current events but don't have the time or desire to read 3 or 4 sources for what's going on in the world today. Lol, we now have "fact checking" sources .. we don't trust them either.

P.S., I know things are changing just as they always have and always will but these last two years, we've seen enough cultural changes to last a life time!

Mask have not been proven to work- the shot has not been proven to work. A true vaccine will stop you from getting something, not lessen the effects after getting said illness, which is what the covid shot does.
If the mask and shots are so great than why are the people that have done both still becoming ill? If they are so great wear them- they should protect you? what do you have to worry about.
Before you go off and say that I am anti-vax or heartless for not caring about other people.

So you work in health care yet have no idea how vaccines work? They're almost never 100% effective and depend on herd immunity to keep the disease from spreading around in the community.
It's just common sense that masks work. They block virus-infected droplets from your nose and mouth from infecting others.

First, the groups that are least vaccinated are black people and Hispanics.
Second, the most vaccinated country in the world is Israel. Look at what’s happening there right now. I hate to break it to you but these vaccines don’t work. They work but they are very limited and they don’t last.
Third, this isn’t about unvaccinated people. This is more government BS. This is about power and control. They keep changing the narrative and moving the goalposts. Wake up smell the coffee!
Fourth, roughly 1200 people under the age of 25 have died from Covid and overwhelmingly those were kids that were fat and had diabetes or other health issues. Young people have nothing to fear from Covid. Young people should not be getting vaccinated.
Fifth, natural immunity is better than the vaccines. If you have had Covid you don’t need a vaccine. A vaccine mimics what happens when you get exposed to the real virus. Anyone that thinks they vaccine is better than natural immunity doesn’t understand science.
Sixth, if a vaccine works it doesn’t matter if no one else is vaccinated it doesn’t matter if no one else wears a mask if a vaccine works you are safe. If a vaccine works you have nothing to worry about. Again if you think otherwise it’s because you don’t know science and people don’t know science and they’re being lied to by the powers that be by the government.

The seasonal flu kills healthy people. The seasonal flu kills children. In 2018 over 80,000 people died of the seasonal flu.
Go look at the data on Covid. 80% of the people that have died from Covid were 65 or older. 80% of the people that died from Covid had issues with obesity and diabetes.
Even the CDC has published reports that document that less than 10% of the people dying from Covid or healthy people.
More children die from the seasonal flu then will die from Covid. Roughly 1200 children under the age of 25 have died from Covid. Thousands and thousands of children die from the seasonal flu every year.
You can have your own opinion, but you can’t have your own facts. And the data, data coming from the CDC, shows you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Roughly 1200 children under the age of 25 have died from Covid. Ok? Well the flu only killed 477 and 643 is the 17-18 and 18-19 seasons ages 17 and below. And for whatever reason the original C19 wasn't very deadly to kids and delta is much worse for them.
80% of the people that died from Covid had issues with obesity and diabetes yea well 42% of the country is obese to that's a pretty big deal. Between age, weight, diabetes, and asthma probably 70% of the country qualifies as having comorbidities. If you're insinuating that it's not a big deal if you're not fat that's a pretty selfish take.
80% of the people that have died from Covid were 65 or older. Ok? 75% and 83% of flu deaths were 65+ in the 17-19 flu season. What's your point? Almost every ailment out there kills the elderly at higher rates.
At the end of the days COVID kills FARRRRR more.

Get the emotion out of it and think for a change.
Why is it that the corrupt politicians, the media and their lackeys don't ever talk about comorbidities, natural immunity or the possible side effects or dangers for immunocompromised people?
We had two friends die from this virus a few days ago, and they were fully vaccinated.
Please explain to those of us you're trying to "educate" how that happens.
I have family members who are doctors and nurses, and I have done my research. We have several friends in the medical profession, and I have heard their thoughts on this (pros and cons).
I am vaccinated, but I don't want this forced on people, especially those who have concerns about the virus.
Do YOU know what this vaccine can do to pregnant women? About those who are immunocompromised? What's going with vaccinated young people who now seemingly have myocarditis? How do you address those as you advocate for young people as young as 12 to get vaccinated?
And since you're in the mood to lecture people today, please educated us on which vaccine one should take and what the potential side effects might be. Are the side effects all the same for all types of people?
Please educate us.
But name calling is not going to get people get vaccinated.

Exactly how did masks mitigate the spread pre-vaccine? (they didn't)

to your seat belt analogy - A seat belt has a specific function and the installation is standardized across all vehicles everyone uses it the same way.
No two mask wearers uses the mask the same way and there in lies the false argument you are trying to make. To even be close to having an impact then all people have to have the same protocol for use and stick to it. How long do you wear it before changing, cleaning. How do you dispose of it; do you wash your hands after you pull it down.
If it works, then it is collecting virus from some infected person that is wearing it and their breath is keeping the virus active - therefore what they do with the mask impacts viral load they pass on to others.
You use your mask perfectly correct, but the person in the grocery check in front of you does not and your are now exposed anyway. The CDC has an exposure criteria that reads if you are with a person that is covid positive for 15 minutes or longer and within 6 feet of each other, you are exposed regardless of mask being worn by one or the other or both.
People are basing long term health decisions on fear and/or a lot of misinformation. You are reading this and probably assuming I am anti mask or anti vac. But in reality I am just thinking critically and have enough life experience to understand that I have not forgotten basic science learned over many years. Wash your hands before you touch your face. Turn away from someone sneezing or coughing. Cough or sneeze into your elbow. Looks with your eyes not your hands (dont touch everything)
Wash your hands everytime you come into your house immediately. Take care of your health daily.
It is hard to see what they are not showing you or telling you sometimes and fear makes you latch on to some hope for comfort.
Some more questions to contemplate....Where are the bodies? If people are dying from this virus and they wanted to encourage everyone to take the vaccine then you can bet news feeds would be camped out at morgues all across the country with daily visuals.
If the vaccine was as effective as promised people would be fighting each other to get ahead in line. The level of infection would have dropped off the charts. But the vaccine is chasing a moving target. Remember the old adage that we can put a man on the moon but cant find a cure for the common cold? but now we can for its stronger little brother? and using an experimental drug therapy as well? Hmmmm.
You are free to do what you want but don't expect others to join in just to make you feel better about what you are choosing to do.

You have been deceived into taking an experimental medicine. Peer presure is a powerful tool that is being used - do it for the good of all. I have even seen the evil Vatican label to do so out of love. Bad people would never use good people's love against them,, would they?
Furthermore, the list of employers that are not requiring vaccination says a lot, also.
