Even though we are not an elite championship team this year, we are still aiming to go 11-1 this season and win the acc championship and a win our bowl game.

That's a great season, and a dramatic improvement from last year's 10-3 season! I'm behind this team 100% and looking forward to sending the coots home from the Valley with a big loss on Saturday.

So right. One of the downsides of a championship process is that now, nothing short of a final four is acceptable. Then, exaggerated disappointment if you don’t win your semi-final and final. 12 and 1 or 13 and 1 becomes a “down” year. So sad.

In our private lives, most of us would celebrate a 90-95% success rate.

If we win everything in front of us, we will be a 13-1 team winning our state championship, the ACC championship, and our bowl game, and hopefully it is against Bama. The AP, and the committee are going to look foolish kicking Clemson so hard for having one hiccup during the season just like all elite teams usually do, and it's rare that two undefeated teams play in the NCG, and if UGA beats the chit out of whoever they play that's not Clemson.

Right now, with the way things look at this point today, Clemson is probably the only team that has a defense that could hold UGA to low scoring game in the NCG. Ture or false?

Losing an occasional game to Notre Dame or Georgia or Alabama is not the end of the world. We could be like a UT and lose to a nobody like … ole what’s their name!

Two convincing wins to close this regular season out will make 2022 a memorable season regardless of what the experts say.

There’s a difference between loosing competitively vs being blown off the ball on both sides against a non ranked ND team who lost to Marshall, Stanford, and close to losing to Navy the next week is what fans are pissed about.

We don’t expect to win them all, however we do expect to be in every game with this roster and to NEVER get whooped like that again.

What’s embarrassing is that ND is actually the de facto ACC champs. I don’t know about y’all, but that embarrasses the #### out of me.

With Clemson’s roster they should never be blown out, by anybody.

only 4-3 against the rest of their schedule! Speaking of which, why did ND only have four games against the ACC this year? I thought it was supposed to be five per year? Did they play six one year?

Sometimes you lose and it looks really bad.

We're the 2nd winningest program in country since Dabo was hired. We've had bad losses before and we'll have them again.

I'm good with the status of the program despite a bad loss. We can have a GREAT season by any standard.

There isn't a HC in this entire country that will never have a bad ugly loss, and some more than others, but when they are winning near as much as Dabo and Saban has won, they should have a lifetime job when the winning is like it is with those two HC's!!!

Beat the coots and that should change, and if it doesn't, that means only one thing, the NC guy on the committee has the same hate for Clemson and Dabo as their HC. It ain't right, but what can we do when we can prove his hate for Dabo and Clemson is the reason he has been talking down Clemson!!!!

If NC St would have played ND, they would have gotten beat probably worse than we did. And for folks to say how bad ND is, they won 8 of their last 9 games, and their 3 losses are to OSU, a 5-point loss to Marshall, and a 2-point loss to Stanford, and all 3 of their losses were within their first 6 games of the season, so they're not as bad a team as most want to say they are!!!!

Don't get me wrong--- I love Clemson and Dabo, no matter what happens.
The problem with having a great decade of great teams is that you know what a great team looks like. Dabo is excellent at knowing what is necessary to pull the game out.
DJ has greatly improved in his confidence but needs to control his turnovers. He is not being developed, except mentally. Shipley is great except for his turnovers (C.J. is developing the running backs). When healthy, the defensive line is awesome. The offensive line has improved.
The problems: Brent Venables and Chad Morris were our best coaching hires-- from outside the program. I believe Dabo made mistakes promoting within the program for the coordinator positions last year. A great organization hires outside in order to continue having fresh ideas.
The wide receivers are not being developed--- they don't get open, and they don't position themselves beyond the first-down marker. We are missing Jeff Scott. WRU is gone.
Go Tigers-- beat the Gamecocks!

I understand what you are saying and I agree with you. I have posted before that the hiring from within the program is not a bad idea. There are two ways to look at this and both have positives . New guys with different ideas and approaches to the game likely would take a few years and recruiting classes to get a new system into effect. That could lead to a bad season..or two. I think we need to give the new OCs at least another Spring season and another football season before we throw them under the proverbial bus! I have met Streeter on a few occasions and he is a genuine Clemson man and a very knowledgeable offensive coach. He is extremely confident in his players and very, very well liked. Godwin I have never met but I would expect him to be a carbon copy of Streeter. Clemson will only get better and ——- they are pretty “dang” good already,

A lot of HC's hire within, but when most do, they are coaches that has been around for years with tons of experience and have been really good at the jobs they had been appointed to do, and most of the times, those hires made the HC look like the smartest coach in the country. I don't think that Dabo will ever be given that credit with his two Coordinator hire. I do believe that Dabo thought that his two guys was ready for the job, but their results hasn't shown they were ready!!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions about whether hiring from the outside or promoting from within is the best way to go. I have managed large manufacturing operations and there are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches and the current situation usually dictates which is the best way to proceed at any given time. I tend to agree with the opinion of the guy that has won 2 national championships and is riding a 12 year streak of 10+ wins.

Nobody is saying that Dabo hasn't been the hero that Clemson FB has needed for a very long time, and he has more than earned the right to have hiccup, but still, Streeter had very little coordinator experience, and Goodwin had none, not even a little bit of on the field coaching experience of 18, 19, 20-year-old very young men!!!

I agree with the sentiment. There is not any particular hire that I have an issue with. I like our coaching staff, and there is no issue with hiring from within, but when there is no hiring from outside the program then I begin to wonder. Dabo has said there was no need to look outside the program, insinuating that he didn't look to see who else might have been available.

Both always hiring from within or always hiring outside people should be questioned. For anyone who throws Dabo's resume out there and says he cannot be questioned, which way are we trending? Though I still hope to make the CFP, I do not think this team is as good as many from the past. Those past teams had more input from coaches that were outside hires. I could also mention that Saban has an even better resume and takes a completely different approach.

At the same time, the name I keep hearing, when people want to solve our offensive woes, is Jeff Scott. He was initially an interior hire. What I am getting at is that there is no hard and fast rule to what is best. Dabo needs to be hiring the best available coaches to be a part of the staff. Sometimes that will be promoting from within. However, in deference to Dabo, sometimes it will not.

This is a good football team regardless of how the offense has looked at times. The ND game was an anomaly imo. Play that game 9 more times and id wager everything they don't run Clemson over like that. Part of me wants to see a rematch with them in a bowl game if Clemson doesn't make the CFP. It's been a good year but yes some of the criticism has been warranted bc the offense has been the thorn in the side more often then not. Either way looking at a potential 12 win year again with a nice recruiting class coming in and a ton of progress on the OL. I'm for one happy with what Thomas Austin has done in year 1.

Remember folks that one can only develop the talent one has on the team. When you add in external factors such as illness, deaths in families, girlfriend troubles, young mem being young men growing up that development task only gets harder. Man! If you had told me would a 10 win season be acceptable on August 1, 2022 for this year I would have said yes, yes, yes. I am happy with our results. Do not get me wrong. I want to win every game by 25+ points but know it is not possible with the teams we play. We get every team's best shot every week. Go Tigers.

Only if the committee was to put us in the top 4, but there would have to be some critical losses this week for that to happen, and even then, there will be plenty saying that 10AC, Bama, or LSU belongs in the playoffs ahead of Clemson, but I say they are dead wrong bias A$$ holes bc, if we beat the coots, that should automatically rule out 10AC, and no two loss regular season teams deserve to be in the playoffs ahead of Clemson, no way in any shape or form regardless of how DJ has looked throughout the season bc, there is only one L by his name thus far!!!!

Why do you think we are not elite or a championship team? How many teams have one loss or less at this point in the season? That means we are elite. We have won our division championship, are favored to win the state championship as well as the ACC championship.

Will we win the national championship? No one knows at this point but if that is what it takes for you to recognize an elite team I don’t know how to help you

Does this team have the potential to become elite? Yes. Has it been elite to this point in the season? No. Everybody wants to peak at the right point in the season. LSU was the butt of a lot of jokes early in the season, but now is control of it's destiny. Tennessee looked fantastic early and is now the butt of a lot of jokes. The jury is still out as to what this Clemson team is.
