SLUMMIN' to take Mary-Land AND Rutgers. They're TV footprint and fan bases are dinky compared to Ohio State, Penn State etc.

yeah I think they believe they got the D tv market but I think that is pro sports oriented. Byrd Stadium isnt that big and rarely sells out so I dont think they got much of a fan base

With all the B1G schools being AAC I think they are...

shooting for being the best academic conference in the country. It's just as, if not more, likely they want a solid conference believing that eventually there may be only four major conferences in what someday may become a new playoff format of 64 teams. I know, that's a stretch at this time.

This is true, but Delaney fully expected to add at least two

more schools from the ACC. He thought Georgia Tech and UVa were sure-things and thought that UNC and Duke were at least possibilities. Instead, he is stuck with friggin' Maryland and will likely have to help them come up with some portion of the exit fee.

Their location is. What the big 10 wants is to have the channel in as many households as possible. If they get onto the programming docket on the east coast that is a lot of money coming in, whether anyone watches or not.

In addition the big 10 will only take universities in the AAU. OSU's president went so far to take a jab and say that they would never considering adding someone such as Louisville to their conference.
