The thing about Trump...

Feb 9, 2018, 4:21 PM

he's ####### stupid. I mean he's literally stupid. Listen to him talk, it's clear. But the ONE THING he ABSOLUTELY GETS is that being at the top of the news cycle all the time means all the other #### gets lost.

So all these tweets and acting like a little dicked fool - none of it matters really. Agreeing to deals and then backing out and demanding other deals, no one cares.

I think he learned from going after Obama's birth certificate that it only HELPED Obama because it made all other valid criticism fall by the wayside, lost in a sea of screaming about stuff that no one cared about.

Anyway. He's a narcissist and a toad and probably a genuine moron. It just doesn't matter.

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-fordprefect.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think he knows his supporters fall for most of it all.

Feb 9, 2018, 4:24 PM

I think that's why he does it. He only cares about his base and knows what they want to hear.

Do you mind if I ask both of you the same question? Have either of you made ELEVEN (11) BILLION dollars?

Many times over obviously.

Feb 9, 2018, 4:36 PM

They made a movie about me called Brewter's Billions. Anyway, Trump may have done fairly well in business, but it doesn't make him remotely qualified to decide world events at this stage f his life or possibly ever. He doesn't seem to have a grasp of world issues. Maybe he should have ran for Mayor of NYC. By your theory Hugh Hefner would have made a great president. Oprah too right? Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan are billionaires now. Maybe they should run the free world? How about JayZ? Donald Sterling?

Please tell me which policies he's implemented that are bad.

I'm not talking bc you are a lib and bringing your lib talking pts. Be real and talk like a real person.

I'll give you one bc I'm nice. His spending sucks like Obama. Problem is Obama and bush did the same thing.

I am more worried about his chaotic nature.

Feb 9, 2018, 5:09 PM

He hasn't implemented that many policies, so he has been fairly safe, unless these tax cuts turn into a mess. Who knows there though? I don't Time will tell. He spends most of his time worrying about Hillary, Obama, making up nicknames for world leaders, the NFL players taking a knee, golfing, or fake news. The real issue is how he won though and it's pretty objective to say I summed it up. Those were his speeches. Maybe in the end we will look back and he will be viewed favorably. I am just pointing out in part why he won. He just taps into cliche. He had a winner he never used though. He would have gained votes if he would have stated on the trail, "You will never catch me on a 5 speed bike with a helmet wearing Mom jeans like Obama." The base would have gone nuts.

The Queen of England is worth about that, but that doesn't mean she'd be a good President.

The logic of your question is depressing. It suggests that all Billionaires, because they are Billionaires, make good Presidents.

Nothing in the history of mankind suggests that is true.

Despite Trump starting with his million dollar loan he is a type of self made man.

The guy does know how to negotiate and manipulate. I also think he has grit and resiliency which are top traits shared amongst most successful people - however success is measured.

Imtelligece wise he is probably a 115-125 IQ. Smarter than average but still well inside the bell curve.

Outside of corporate real estate, he has little knowledge or desire to learn and is a bore.

It doesn't change the fact that he's a despicable piece of #### and that he is on the fast track to becoming our worst president in history.

I think Obama's supporters were a little more complex and...

Feb 9, 2018, 4:59 PM

less cliche if you compare Trump's speeched. Although many were idealists and Obama didn't follow through on a lot of what he promised either. Trump supporters are more middle America scared of immigrants, Muslims, don't believe in science, want more war, are religious, want a wall, and don't want their guns messed with. Trump talked about those issues constantly on the trail. It's cliche but pretty accurate and he sold it. That's why the wall was everything to Trump on the campaign trail. Trump told them their jobs would be returning in the coal mines, and the factories were all coming back, and they bought it. He made huge promises. He told them that he was tough and there would be no more messing around the world and we would be handling things in NK, with the cartels, radical Islam worldwide, the streets of Chicago would be safe again, etc etc. He is just full of hot hair, but middle of America were tired of the liberal PC bull, so they were willing to suspended disbelief to roll with it. Hillary represented the system. She didn't tap into thing.

You must have not listened to Trump's speeches. I just nailed his speeches. You are actually denying those were his speeches? I went and saw him live at a campaign rally in Miami. You should have listened to him at the least if you're going to be one of his supporter. Trump gave the most cliche campaign speeches in decades. Compare him with Romney. Not even similar. Trump is a showman and salesman. He knows his cliche audience. That's why Trump won. His audience is cliche and he ran against Hillary who even libs didn't like.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I forgot to add, that when Trump was talking about...

Re: The thing about Trump...

Feb 9, 2018, 4:46 PM

The person that Trump has said was his "mentor" was the attorney Roy Cohn from New York.

Cohn was Chief Council to Sen. Joe McCarthy, chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations that wrecked this country for 3 years in the 50's....the "Red Scare". McCarthy smeared people for being "communist" and ruined hundreds of lives and careers. He died shortly after they put an end to nonsense of alcoholism.

The interesting thing about McCarthy is that he was able to go on a tear for 3 years, literally ruining people to make himself look good, because he had the support of a strong base. No matter what McCarthy did his base stuck with him.

McCarthy is one the real black eyes of our history.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

case in point, look at what head of EPA recently said...

Feb 9, 2018, 5:44 PM

"There are assumptions made that because the climate is warming that necessarily is a bad thing" and questioning is global warming "necessarily is a bad thing?" THE HEAD OF THE EPA SAID THIS

This would be talked about endlessly in the media with any other presidency, but because there is so much "dumb" debris floating around the orbit of Donald Trump it gets lost in the static.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Climate change is a hoax by the Chinese. There is nothing else to think about or to get our leaders to debate. Case closed.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wasn't his point basically that it's a natural process?

Feb 9, 2018, 6:58 PM

Of course, he seems to miss the point of the people who say we should take drastic measures to slow it down, if we're contributing much to it. One problem with the whole climate debate is that: (a) very few people really care much about it because it doesn't have much real effect on their daily lives; (b) one side is busy trying to make everything the other side says look stupid, while the other side tries to make everything their opponents say look corrupt.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

would it being natural matter to it being "necessarily bad?"

I have a feeling he's smarter than most people give

Feb 9, 2018, 8:19 PM

him credit for. A tactic long used by some of the best attorneys is the old "Aw shucks, I'm just a country boy" routine. The principle is basically the same, although the implementation is somewhat different.

I can rattle off a dozen or more attorneys who have made a living connecting with juries making people think they're dumb. The show Matlock had a very similar character. You want people to underestimate you, always.

I'll never forget the call I took from an attorney once in Florida. He was representing a woman in a worker's compensation insurance claim and also for her civil case against the adverse driver who was at fault in the accident that killed her husband. Attorney said he's just an "old country lawyer" and doesn't do email. Can't figure out technology, etc. I immediately knew I was dealing with a very good attorney. Little did I know how good.

It was interesting that an attorney of his caliber would take such an interest in a truck wreck in BFE, SC. Even more interesting was he called me on his cell phone. He was successful in keeping his name out of my report, but I knew his deal by the time I was finished with my investigation. Luckily, his name didn't need to be in the report when all was said and done. When I sent my report to the defense attorney, she informed me that the attorney I worked with gave her graduation speech when she graduated from law school.

Southerners are easy to call idiots. Some of the most brilliant people make a living off that stereotype.

Could Trump be an idiot? Sure, but I doubt it. In fact, there are enough people attacking him now I would say he's anything but an idiot. But he's playing the card well.

Feb 10, 2018, 7:23 AM

Further from the truth or reality than calling Trump an all out idiot.

He doesn’t have the ability to humble himself. To pretend to be humble and feign stupidity would take some measure of humility. Albeit false humility.

Like someone said, he probably has an IQ of 125ish. And that is WAY higher than most of his devout followers.

But faking ANYTHING in the name of something else probably isn’t a trait a Narcisist is capable of.

That would be like saying he would be willing to pretend his pen|s is small but it really is large.
Can you imagine anything like that coming out of his crazy a$$ mouth??

As far as a lawyer pretending to not understand email technology, in my opinion, that is just patronizing and dense.
Not brilliant.
Unless he really doesn’t understand how to use AOL as an email tool and that is all he has been exposed to.

Fake humility is just that.

-that is my $0.02. And that isn’t being humble....truthfully or fake... because my opinion may not even be worth that on an internet P&R board.

But here are some emojis to make everyone think I’m smart.

Feb 10, 2018, 9:20 AM

most public personalities you see in the media/movies/etc. You would find that a many of them appear one way in public, but their personality/demeanor in private is far different.

Fakeness is a tool many people use, both good and bad. Lawyers use it to get their way with juries. Politicians use it to get their way with passing laws and getting votes. Women use it to get men they desire. The one thing that almost everyone who uses fakeness has, is that they're intelligent. You don't see idiots using fakeness to get their way and manipulate people.
