This is one of the biggest basketball homestand weeks
Feb 7, 2022, 1:25 PM

I can ever recall at Clemson with UNC, Duke, and Notre Dame all visiting in succession Tuesday through Saturday.
Is there any kind of buzz about this in Tigertown? Pep rallies? Messaging from the Coach to the students and fans to get them fired up and turning out? Not in the area, but reading the room it seems eerily quiet for what should be one helluva week of home games.
Go Tigers.

That's certainly one guy you can always count on. I hope more with the school and program are picking up on this and pushing it. It's pretty special. Were I still a student it would have been a terrible week academically.

Wow, that is a heck of a home stand. If we shoot well we could win all 3. Hope the students and fans show up.

My guess is it'll be at fever pitch if we can win tomorrow. But realistically 2 wins - any two would be wonderful.

After the s**t show we saw on Saturday...

I suspect most people are dreading it as opposed to being fired-up about it.

I get that, but sometimes you've got to fake it to make it.
We have a shot at hoops glory in the days ahead, at least from our historical perspective. A sweep could significantly change the trajectory of this season for us as well. Seems like there would be a full court press at hand here to generate turnout around this. If we're going to go down, at least go down swinging.

I wish the Tigers were at full strength. The one injury that we have is an important position. You know opponents are going to be sure that Hall isn’t allowed to beat them. He will get a lot of attention so someone should be ready to play big time basketball. Not sure who can pick up the slack.

Tru Dat. Ga Tech triple teamed him on occasions. So that leaves 2 on 4. Chief needs to take the next step. Imo, he's too timid to shoot. Probably by design but at this point, I'd tell him to go for it if I were Brownell.

I look for Dawes to be a factor in the game. When he’s on his game he can light it up. Collins might be a factor also. I can see him developing into a scorer. Hemenway has been a little off for several games now and I’m sure coach BB will give him a chance early to score. Let hope for a loud, close to the floor crowd of youngsters!

As I said earlier...

after Saturday's debacle in Atlanta (which I did attended), I am done.
I'm sick and tired of it, and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Brownell was a bad hire from day one and he should have been fired after the 2014-15 season. Yet the University continues to give him pay raises and extensions for middling to subpar results.
I have been a season ticket holder for over 30 years but I will not spend another dime purchasing Clemson basketball tickets or attend another game until Brad Brownell has been fired or announces his resignation.
If the University doesn't give a $#!7 (and clearly they don't), then why should I !?!?!

Terrence Oglesby said that when he was there students camped out for tickets for top 10 match ups vs Wake, Duke and other games. He then said they started a lottery for tickets and it ruined everything. I remember one time on Tiger Calls when Oliver Purnell was there, that a student called in the show and said that they had an exam that evening during the last game and couldn't go. Now maybe that was one of the things that caused OP to leave?
If those things are going on still now, no wonder Basketball can't be good...

With Hunter Tyson out and PJ not able to practice, I’m not optimistic about these next three games. This is a very frustrating team from the standpoint that they are quite talented especially compared to other Brownell teams offensively, but just can’t seem to play good enough defense or come through late in the game to get more wins.
My guess is they go one and two this week. I’m concerned about PJ‘s injury and him being worn out by the end of the week. If they go oh and three, I think it makes Brownell vulnerable to being fired of course based off how the rest of the season goes.
