Man With a Plan: No panic in Swinney with loss of coaches

When Marion Hobby bolted Clemson for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars shortly after Clemson’s win over Alabama in the National Championship, it took most people by surprise. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney says he wasn’t caught off guard, and he didn’t panic. (Photo courtesy of Anniston Star) Full Story »

In addition to being a great coach, the man could be a great AD.

Don't worry, when Dabo gets tired of the everyday of being on the field coaching, he will be an AD some where. I just hope that job is open at Clemson before it is at Bama. Dabo has an MBA degree, and he will use it before he is done!!!

Hang in there Dabo,

But it doesn't sound like Hobby leaving was something you anticipated!

Think we was just saying he was prepared

and had a plan for whenever it happened. Probably has a plan for every coaching position. Doesn't mean he knows when someone will leave

No way he would or could have known it. He has always

stated that he had a plan to replace coaches if they leave. He proved that by the quick hire of Bates which sounds like a great hire.

As long as Dabo stays Clemson will always be in the running for a National Championship!

All great programs experience the loss of coaches and have others in the waiting - so do we now!!!!

Any news on who we may hire to replace

Feb 6, 2017, 4:21 PM

Conn as an analysis?

Not sure about analysis, but Miguel Chavis just left his position as a youth pastor in Clemson about a week ago to "move to a coaching position for Dabo". Not sure what position or role he will have. I'm sure he'll probably have a mentor/chaplain influence in whatever he does there. Just a great great guy. Anyone else know more about this?

That's awesome! Thank you for the info!***
