Carolina has the #6 pick in the 1st round of the NFL draft

tonight and no picks in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. They're second pick is in the 4th round unless they trade for one. They finished 2nd in the league last season in total defense per yards allowed and 30th in offensive total yards.
So I'm guessing this will be another year that the Panthers (27 years in existence) will not draft a Clemson player since Andrew Booth won't go that high and the Panthers focus should be on offense anyway. They might could get Justyn Ross or Mario Goodrich in the later rounds but not expecting it.
With a Clemson free Panthers draft, the streak is intact and us overthinking Clemson fans can keep hating them for it and talking about it. I still haven't forgiven them for passing on Isaiah Simmons a couple years ago with the 7th pick when Arizona got him with the 8th.

who was their 7th pick? Can't remember off the top of my head.
They'll either trade or go offense. OL would be a good start and try to get a better QB next year or through Free Agency.

They got Auburn DT Derrick Brown with the 7th pick in 2020

He's decent but Simmons had a way better season last year. Plus the timing seemed right in 2020 since Luke Kuechly had just retired and it seemed like Simmons would have been the perfect replacement.

who cares, they're set up for mediocrity for years to come

since they got shunned by Deshaun. I don't blame him. They can't even get a practice facility negotiated properly. They are a laughing stock. I'm thinking this Tepper guy is bombing on all fronts on purpose so he can move the team to Canada from which he is a Canadian citizen. His next ploy will be to propose a new stadium and will hold the city hostage to pay for it all. They probably won't b/c his price will be astronomical and he'll move on like George Shinn did with the HOrnets.

Charlotte will bend over backwards to build him a stadium.

in the area. But you're probably right. Charlotte is ran by a bunch of spenders right now and they usually don't mind running the taxes up for their citizens on a yearly basis so they'll probably do it and hope biden forgives the debt in the future. You know, clown world type stuff. I'm glad i live over the state line.

Because the Panthers are a newer franchise and I have other favorites, they will never matter to me regardless of who they draft.

It's just that they played their first season at Clemson

since the UofSC wouldn't let them and this is the thanks we get. And they've drafted several Gamecock players including one in the 1st round last year.
And Clemson and Charlotte are only 130 miles apart and a lot of people in the Charlotte and Rock Hill area are Clemson and Panther fans. And 27 years, c'mon man.

It seems like they would pick some Clemson guys just because of the close proximity and the fan draw with some Clemson guys on the roster, and we certainly have had some very good plyers come through during the last several years. Oh well, you just can't fix stupid.

At this point, I've given up on them ever drafting a Clemson

player. It's happened way too many times to be discounted as all just coincidental.

Carolina needed a DT.... not a LB/S Hybrid.....
