All joking aside…
Dec 17, 2021, 9:29 AM

No more sarcastic comments by me on P&R about Christianity to make a point… it gets missed anyway. A plain and simple statement only for today. Christianity is about being like Jesus, as best as we can be like Jesus, everyday. Period. That is not being perfect. It is also not expecting others to be perfect.
Furthermore, one can dissect Christianity, argue for or against, call it a [made up] crutch for weak minded folk, and even say it just plain ol’ ain’t so… and can do it all they like, but the Faith of a Christian can only be measured by how far they will walk in trust that God is true to the word that He has provided. That He provided it comes through faith as well.
One last thing, that Jesus lived is a historical fact and is not anything anyone can rationally dispute. Trusting then, in words that are conveyed to us – that Jesus Himself spoke with regards to heaven – Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Me.” He either speaks the truth OR He doesn’t.
There are many things we can agree or disagree about concerning Christianity. But the one “Heaven or Hell” issue one must be correct on is this – is Jesus the only way to heaven. I believe He is. Period.
I celebrate Jesus every day. I trust Jesus is who He claims to be. I trust that even with my faults, because I have called upon Him to forgive my sins (repented of) and to renew my soul He has. I believe that despite my faults He did this just as freely as He gave Himself to the pain and suffering of the cross… because atonement for sin must take place. I can’t, we can’t, do this on our own.
Am I wrong? Time will tell. But one thing is certain, I am willing to put my life and well being on the line for Jesus. My eternal life and wellbeing.
With that said, I celebrate Jesus with this last statement – Merry Christmas to you all!

The overwhelming theme of the New Testament was love.

Love for God. Love for our neighbor. Love for our enemies.
I find much of today's evangelicals, especially those who are also very political, fail miserably when it comes to this theme.

They have let politics infect their core, so they live constantly in a state of fear and anger about what the Left will do next. And, this fear then deludes them into thinking an amoral heathen like Trump is literally God's tool to lead them into the light.
David French is doing an amazing job on this topic.

A superior being would know this. Which makes the idea that salvation can only be had through Christ laughable.

I'm not asking you to determine if I have it right. I am asking you to determine if Jesus has it right.
Merry Christmas!

It wasn't intended for your post.
I definitely agree with most of the teachings and lessons of Jesus, for sure.

This is a strange thing to ridicule.

Every belief or opinion of every person, in the history of the world, was held because the person thought it was right. That's how believing something is defined.
If you don't think it's right, then you don't believe it.

That is an interesting (but mostly accurate) comment. However, if the evidence is not there, then it should be investigated, ridiculed/mocked until sufficient evidence is produced? Otherwise, there is no progress, it seems. Again, just an opinion (not a belief).

Really laying all joking aside...

I trust in God. Atheist trust that there is no God. As far a reason, logic and rational go, neither seems to have more faith in their belief.
No, to all. I'm not arguing about this.

This statement is false:
"Atheist trust that there is no God"
As much as you've studied and discussed your personal faith, I (honestly) would expect you to be somewhat familiar/versed. A-theist = not theist. Atheist = not convinced of a god or gods due to evidence. That's it, nothing more. Now, there are Anti-theists out there and perhaps that is who you're pointing to? To have honest and productive interaction/debate, terms for these kinds of discussions should be understood and agreed to. Another example is understanding what is meant by "faith" and "God", etc. These have colloquial definitions and personal/emotional meanings - and they often vary. As always, open to learning and others' perspective. Thanks
