We have gone over this many times. Iptay funds are not part of the athletic department revenue and are only partially reported as such. Gamecock club revenue is included in this figure. Sure there is a gap but Clemson is also a smaller school with less sports teams to support. Also next years revenue figures will go up across the board because of the playoff structure. The SEC network while profitable only provides about 1-1.5 million more per team than the already existing TV contract.

Yeah, I don't know why we have to go through this every off season. To fill space in their sports sections every paper and magazine runs some sort of story like this. You would think Clemson would catch on that it makes them look bad and start counting IPTAY revenue as a part of the quote. On the other hands the schools trying to play bragging rights are just eventually going to report numbers so large the government decides to stop turning a blind eye to their non-profit status. We're definitely behind SCar but not nearly this month. Plus last year they had the Clemson game which is worth $3-4 million I believe that alternates every year.

Is USA today omitting any Clemson expenses as well or is it acceptable to spend 22 million less per year?

How does that even happen? And in a regional, that's the first round. More money more problems I guess.

I would guess that some IPTAY expenses are also not included. Clemson's AD and IPTAY work as two separate entities.

IPTAY contributions 2012: 19,210,415
Article quoted contributions 2012: 16,711,479
As you can see the numbers for Clemson's contributions do not account for IPTAY. I am sure there will be an even larger discrepancy between 2013 contributions as the reported contribution in the article was only $13,972,191.

People have won more than that in the lottery and are bankrupt in five years. Nothing to see here.
