Watching The Today Show coverage of Jan 6 hearings ...

Let me say first (for the gazillionth time) I am no Trump fan, and he has done plenty wrong. This is not a defense of anything illegal or immoral he has or may have done. However, if you can't see how transparently, unapologetically biased, agenda driven, and basically illegitimate these hearings are, and how transparently and enthusiastically complicit most of the media is in driving this agenda, then you are either mentally challenged or wounded yourself, don't follow politics, or you are a win-at-all-cost activist who believes the end justifies the means.
Why do you think the videos they show you are from the cameramen they sent and yet we can't seem to get footage from the 1,000's of security cameras there? Same with the Pentagon on 9-11, somehow all the 4,000 plus camera footage is missing.

I agree that the committee is transparently, unapologetically biased and agenda driven, because its sole agenda is to investigate wrongdoing by the people involved in the lead-up to Jan. 6. If they suddenly worried about Joe Hunter's laptop, it would not make sense given the purpose of the committee.
That doesn't make it illegitimate, any more than the Benghazi hearings were illegitimate.
But hang on: Why are you basing your opinion on The Today Show's version of reality?
Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

Maybe because he caused it with a lie and unconstitutionally tried to over turn an election? Do you, as a conservative, support "law and order"? If you did, you would want to get to the bottom of this, unless of course over turning democratic elections is not something that concerns you.
because he is walking the same emotional tightrope all Republicans are these days and is just having a bit of a time dealing with it.
What's actually been more difficult to watch are the clutching-of-pearl reactions to the hearings and all the phoney denials, rationalizations, poo-poos, deflections, and general process of overly defensive meltdown.
You almost feel sorry for all the characters on this board who have had to begrudgingly put up with Trump's sociopathic lust for power, defend him on occasion because he was their guy, whilst knowing deep down how he was a complete schmuck they will forever be stained by.
I like to call it Lindsey's Syndrome.
Seriously though, we all need to help these people move on. Big hugs to you all, now let's sing a hymn together, lol.
He threw that in to try to give his opinion some legitimacy because he knows if he cites where he's really getting his opinion (right-wing narrative-driven media) his opinion would be easily disregarded.
He acknowledges he hasn't watched any of the hearings and said he wouldn't watch any before they started, so posting about how biased they clearly are based on a summary he supposedly watched on the Today Show is pretty hilarious if you think about it.
The committee certainly wants to exact revenge on Trump.

But that doesn’t mean that they aren’t presenting real evidence and sticking to facts that they have gathered.
I don’t think these hearings are illegitimate at all. I think they are necessary because we live in a time where fake news dominates. That fake news led to an election lie taking hold, and motivating misled people to become violent.
The media is absolutely biased. They typically lean left (and in some cases, far left) and have rarely been fair when it comes to Trump. Granted, he brought some of that on himself, but he didn’t deserve all of the vitriol he received from them while he was president.
If they can prove that Trump knew and accepted that the

election was totally legit and not rigged, then tried to overturn it anyway, then yes, of course he should be held accountable. I have never even so much as hinted at anything else.
criminal activity with reasonable suspicion. I'm not cool with a questionably motivated committee consisting entirely of very bitter personal and political enemies conducting any investigation against that personal and political enemy.
It’s true, Republicans said they didn’t want an independent investigation.
Now they are complaining about it being biased, even though there are Republicans on this committee and almost all of the testimony has been from Republicans.
Pubs whining about all of this is a really bad look.
Dude, Trump could be standing in the middle of the street holding Biden's severed head aloft and yelling: "DEMENTIA JOE IS DEAD!!!" and you'd still be like: "I dunno, not sure if there's quite enough there to convict him."
If you haven't seen enough at this point, there's just never going to be any convincing you. But it's going to be a fascinating exercise watching you go through Stages of Denial with every Trump associate that pleads out or gets convicted, because get ready for at least another two years of that.
When I hear sworn, believable testimony, by somebody who is

not a Trump enemy or hater, detailing Trump's admission and acceptence that he lost a legitimate election, and as a result knowingly planning a coup or overthrow, or when we see documents or hear recordings that can substantiate that, I'm in. Until then, I will continue to believe that Trump is a delusional egomaniac, detached from reality in that regard, as Barr believed and every news outlet in the country believed at that time when they led with that headline.
Friends, aides, and advisors telling him he lost doesn't count. I still don't think he accepted it.
I don't like Trump - I am certainly not fighting for him. I want him to go away. But I care about the process, and I oppose the insanity and the blind hate that drives all of this. How he goes away matters.
You continue your hypocritical, childish posts. Every accusation made against Trump from his campaign through his term has been debunked yet you continue to bark at each bee accusation as the one that will get him. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over getting the same results yet expecting different results. Look in the mirror.
