It should only take 15-30 minutes. Anyway, apparently they finally got to looking at my 2019 taxes, and their number of the additional amount they think I owe them is different than what they already stole from me and not what I thought it should be.
I sent them a check in January to cover this un-stolen amount, but they don't have the clarity to apply that check to the balance I owe (lulz) them. So not only do they have $7010 of money I have already sent them, they want me to send them another $6770 dollars by 5/24 until they figure it all out.
I hope some of you effers are enjoying your "stimulus" checks.

Joe is proposing giving the IRS another $80B for staffing. No doubt this will be invested to give them Chick-fil-a like levels of customer service.

So I'm doing my taxes the other week and it was asking about the first 2 stimuluses (stimuli?) and what I got. I entered the amounts. The first stimulus I got was based on my 2018 tax return because the fuckheads at the IRS took a break right as I filed my 2019 taxes and didn't get to it until around July or August. Anyhoo, they paid me $500 less because of it (since my son was born in 2019). I had gotten 3400 Trumpbucks instead of 3900 Trumpbucks but I didn't care b/c employeed and non-UDP (lol yeah sure).
Moral of the story: THEY ADDED THAT SHIZZLE INTO MY RETURN. 500 MORE TRUMPBUCKS CUMMMING MY WAY.

They know exactly how much money I make (I'd bet down to the hour) and how much taxes I pay on it.
One would think they could have looked at employment records, and when folks were no longer getting a check (and hence paying their taxes) they could have sent THOSE people the stimulus, and not everyone.
Wouldn't it make sense to help the actual folks that lost income, and not, say school teachers who never lost a seconds worth of income??
And folks want the gov't to control their healthcare; They can't get giving money away right.

They finally called me back.

He said they can see (after doing some searching) where I sent them money earlier this year. He didn't know why it hadn't been taken off my "owed" balance, other than because they have "many systems that don't talk to each other, and that its a miracle that they can do as well as they could."
He told me to check again next week and it should have sorted itself out. Then he went into when they were going back in the office, and hoped they never would because of how much better working from home has been.
I'm thinking "better for who? You JUST got to my 2019 taxes, and still haven't tied together a payment I sent in 4 months ago". I thought that, but didn't say it, because I don't want to end up owing even more and then being audited.

they still have not moved the money, ask for a statement showing where they money is, which it is probably applied to 2020 since you mailed in January.
Take good notes on who you talk to also, names, times, what they told you.
