They didn't ask D. Williams about his offsides on 4th down

Dec 19, 2013, 8:35 AM

vs SCar. That was a critical error and the main reason I wanted to hear his interview. They talked to Battle about his fighting incident @ NCSU. How could they let Williams slide on his mistake? Come on reporters, you've got to do a better job.

The refs missed an obvious false start move on the usc player.

F...ing ACC Refs.

I think SEC refs call all non-conference games when they're played in a SEC stadium, but yes I think they missed the false start move too

Not typically

at least from the big conferences. If its a home and home the visitor's conference usually supplies the refs.

It's almost always the visiting team's conference refs at games between BCS teams. I agree that they missed it, but that's a move that routinely gets missed. I've got a buddy who played center back in the day and talks about how he knew what moves would get called and which ones wouldn't as well as which ones DTs key off.

I thought the SEC was unique in that they don't travel to call a game that an SEC team is the away team in a non-conference game so that all SEC home games are called by SEC officials regardless of the opponent. I'm pretty sure the UGA game this season was called by an ACC crew because of the policy.

not sure a wrong call equals jacking up a mouthy dback.***

Missed false start call

Dec 19, 2013, 8:46 AM

Watch the play again and you will see the center for the lamecocks jerk his hand up before snapping the ball. It was clearly a false start that was missed. But, that is the way things happen sometimes. Can't witch about it now, it is an unchangeable call at this point.

I've watched it several times, he absolutely moved his head. The "official" explanation is that he was calling the offensive line assignments, which is allowed. BUT, before the play, he turned to his QB and whispered something to him. I think that he planned to try to draw us offsides.

The penalty should have been called on the Capon center***

Smart coaching. Take risk it isn't caught or if so, punt***

In that situation it was definitely a risk worth taking....

plus they knew they were dealing with a bunch of lame-a$$ incompetent ACC officials.
