I propose an adjustment to the CFP. If two Top-4 teams face one another in their conf. championship

the loser of that game is eliminated from the CFP.
In the absence of a playoff expansion, it’s been said by many, Dabo included, that the conference title games are effectively a playoff game.
I propose the CFP Committee institutionalize that.

UGA is 12-0 in their scheduled games, ND is 11-1 in their scheduled games, UGA should be in over ND, and it is just that simple. Putting ND in over UGA would be giving ND and advantage bc they don't play in a conference championship game!!! Georgia, and Bama are in!!!

I agree that teams that don’t play in a conference championship should be discounted more than they are now by the Committee. I think ND should be out based on this alone. If the committee did that, it would solve Notre Dame’s no-conference problem in a hurry as well. They join the ACC tomorrow.
Without an expanded playoff, the dynamic of this additional structure would be good for the game though.
The top-4 provision insures that you have your opportunity on the field to move on against a top-4 opponent, giving the outside looking in’ers their opportunity, and fans get to see more diverse matchups.

was for the conference championship games to serve as defacto quarterfinal games. But once they let Ohio State in w/o a conferenfe title in 2016, that opened Pandora's box

Wouldn’t that mean that Bama should get a bye to the final, if they have already won a playoff game? Why should they be penalized and have to win 3 games in the CFP, as a reward for taking down #1?
