So is Coastal football D1 now

Apr 14, 2017, 4:21 PM

As in eligible for post season bowl play? If so, will they basically have to win their conference every season to go bowling or will the 7-9 win season get them in?

Looking at the Official website of the Sun Belt Conference,it shows that the Chanticleers can be Bowl eligible for the following five Bowls...Raycom Media Camellia Bowl,Auto Nation Cure Bowl,R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl,GoDaddy Bowl or the NOVA Homes Loan Arizona Bowl

What is the point of playing a sport if you can't win it all? I just don't understand

The Sun Belt is eligible for the Playoffs/National Championship according to their website.I would bet the teams and fans of the Sun Belt Conference would think differently.I would think they would die to be going to a Bowl game.Us as Clemson fans have our sights set on winning a National Title or if not that making it to one of the Major Bowls

While I was there we tried to start a team

Apr 14, 2017, 6:38 PM

And we did but we only had 4-5 teams to play an it wasn't considered Coastal's team. Equipment an all was bought out by a semi-pro team two years later. We never had the funding or support then. We were pretty good at baseball and Soccer.

I got really good at Racquetball and basketball in the athletic center. I enjoyed that part of being able to workout and play so many sports at the athletic center.

It will be years before they will have a chance to be good in division 1 football. Their coach has done a good job considering he's paying himself.

They aren't eligible this season while they transition.

They can win the Sun Belt title, but they can't play in a bowl game.

Starting in 2018, they can compete in the postseason, and with the sheer number of bowls that we have now, I'd imagine a 7-win season gets them in one.

They have the former QB from Dillon HS that won like 4 or 5 State Titles & is a dual threat. They have plenty of talent to be good in the next couple of years.

Joe Moglia will have them in a bowl very soon. He' s a lot like Dabo in many ways as a leader.
