If Dabo Said He Was Leaving All Naysayers would freak out

Everyone crapping on Dabo would suddenly be wringing their hands over a Dabo departure.
This game was essentially an early Spring game where Cade got a lot of reps on tape that can be used to improve the many rookie mistakes we saw.
We won the ACC and winning or losing this game has no impact on the outcome of this season aside from a few spots in Polls that don't even factor in the National Playoffs.
With that said there are some decisions Dabo needs to make about the future of the program.
We won the ACC and in a "Down" year and unlike the Coots we aren't happy.
Looking forward to next year

What kind of hire our AD would make. Don’t get me wrong, I like Dabo but if he decided to leave that’s his decision. To use his own words “Next man up”.

I see most people wanting to get rid of his coordinator hires, not him. They were both gambles, and worse than the predecessors, when we’re in a situation where we should be able to go hire whoever we want based on prestige and what we pay.

He has been great, but if he leaves it’s next coach up. He brought the program to championship status, been great mentor for young men and did it his way.
Why would he walk is my question??? Because message board warriors hurt his feelings ??

I don’t think anyone wants Dabo to leave.

We just want him to make better decisions.
Our program has slipped and it’s going to continue to decline if some things don’t change.

he has it way too good. it is his choice to raise the bar or drive it into the ground with the 'inbred' hiring method. just hope the new AD has the fortitude to not extend any contracts until the tide turns back.

I wouldn’t be that upset tbh. Dabo’s model doesn’t work in this era of college football. But he’s too stubborn to adapt.
Take off your blinders. Why would any program want a coach that fails to adapt as the sport changes?

Saying naysayers implies Dabo is actually doing something right. The program is getting worse so not sure what you mean by naysayers! Time to stop defending buffoonery

Just because we disagree with some of his decisions doesn't mean we want him to leave. Perhaps you are new to fandom but that what's fans do to coaches. They disagree with them sometimes. Happens to Saban, Belicheck and certainly Dabo.

I would have promoted Dabo to AD, he could rah rah religious nonsense from there and promoted BV to HC. We would have been in a better place but I just run a successful company for a living and don’t hire friends, family or acquaintances for a good reason

Would the board freak-out if any coach other than him on this staff was fired?
No, absolutely not. But there were lots of questions about the hires to begin with.

Nope. Clemson is bigger than Dabo. I will never "worship" a coach. If he wants to go then go. I'll be excited for who's next. With a 10 million dollar salary we can get anybody we want. It's not the same game that is was with Ford, Hatfield, and even Bowden. We have the finances. I'm not saying that I want him gone, but the product says that Clemson is slipping. It is currently and slight slip, but if not corrected its going to get worse.

Of course everyone would freak out if Dabo left. Don't deflect. But it's the fact he needs to do something about the ineptitude of coaching during these games. That's 3 games now (4 if count Cuse) where we just seemed absolutely unprepared, clueless, or dead at sea this season. Whether it's defense, offense, special teams or all three at the same time. It's inexcusable to have it happen so much without some form of lashback or criticism.
And this game very much mattered outside of polls. It's the f###king Orange Bowl, that's a HUGE deal. Plus we haven't won a major bowl since against Ohio State in 2019 playoff. It's been 3 major bowl season blowout losses in a row now (LSU, Ohio State and now Tennessee). Something has to give here or we won't sniff another major bowl victory for a long time. It was good to get Cade some major playing time but my god the oline play and playing calling left far too much to be desired tonight.
TD me or whatever. It's the facts.
