Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday night stayed in and watched The Last Drive In with Joe Bob Briggs. "Two pretty good movies The Girl Who Lives Down the Lane" and "House Bound."
Saturday a bit of yard work then met some friends at Shoeless.
Sunday, hamstrings sore from the weed pulling, didn't manage to accomplish too much.

Wife went to visit grandchildren while i stayed home for a memorial service on Saturday. Spent a lot of money... RV shed upgrade - contracted to enclose a 15 x 18 area. Bought a new Lawn tractor and some EGO equipment.
Weed and Fee on the lawn... sprinkler system working great. Just sat outside one morning and watched it spraying the yard...peaceful.
Best thing - wife made it home safely yesterday evening.

Saturday had soccer game in the am. Went to Big Lots and bought a patio umbrella. Assembled said umbrella with 170 lbs of sand. Oldest son ate weeds. Did some work. Then had a couple mojitos on the newly shady porch. Cooked supper (burgers).
Sunday middle son sang at church. Went to lunch. Wife went to Sam's while I bought mom and us all groceries. Discovered I have a maypop tire. Everything closed Sunday so now I have to deal with that today.
Bout it.

Friday nite, so there’s that. Was supposed to be doing something else, but rain, so that, too… Sat watched Softball gals, replaced a dying gardenia shrub with a new one, weed eater around the property, then watched some pga golf, shrimp diavalo for dinner. Sun church, then relaxed rest of day. Grilled strip steak (not ribeyes) for dinner.

Friday: Drove to Clemson area. Had dinner at sonof's favorite ramen place (8/10). Drove to Epoch (other side of the lake) to see where he will be housing his sophmore year. Drove around campus. Picked up a few things from his old dorm.
Saturday: Ate breakfast. Then, back to campus. Spent 2 grueling hours moving him from Lever to MauldinT® Everything went well. Beautiful day. Rode around some more before heading home. Spent Sat night on the heating pad. (stupid back)
Sunday: meh. More heating pad and some beers.

like I do most every Saturday. 6 10-12 hour days a week is getting old.
Sunday is yardwork honey do day.
I'm getting close to retirement though. As soon as the recession kicks in good, I'm taking time off instead of chasing less profitable work.

and Mets lost their first series of the season. Many more to come I am sure, but it was a nice run.
As of today, I am retired from my 'retired' job. Time to move on to find something else to do, but retirement is just another acknowledgment that I am getting even older.

Friday, Visited RH Mom after work, got home and Mrs. has roasted a chicken and fried sweet tater chips. Cleaned up the kitchen, played bass for a bit, watched something or other on TV, can't remember what.
Saturday, chores and errands in the morning, then had to go over to Mom's and fix her TV. The Firestick quit working but after putzing around with it for an hour and a half I got it going just in time for her to watch the Clemson softball game. Went home and grabbed some lunch and watched DOA, the 1981 documentary about the Sex Pistols one and only American tour. Had not seen it before, so I was amazed at some of the historically epic footage of the concerts, Sid & Nancy, and a few other bands sprinkled in. Long afternoon hike along the lake with the pup, the off to MEDIUM volume acoustic jam. Played from 8-1 because it was one of the magic nights when everything turned out good.
Sunday, slept in, then coffee, then errands and grocery run. Over to visit RH Mom, then back to grab a shower before heading up to Charlotte to eat at Bad Daddy's Burgers for Joonyer's birthday. Back to RH to hit PW's for ice cream, which was packed and a traffic nightmare from people trying to get in there as usual. Back home to watch Fear The Walking Dead, then crash.
18.95/19 Covids.

Thursday: Went to the course but decided not to play because I didn’t want to get wet. Drank and watched friends play as a twelvesome. Won a few prop bets.
Friday: Went to a party, drank more than I should have.
Saturday into Sunday: Driving range at 8:00am, first cocktail down by 8:03am. Played OK on first 18. Turned it on for the e9 money match. Collected $160 from the club champion and his partner. Went to a party. Listened to really good music.
After-party lasted until way too late. Woke up in a chair next to a swimming pool around 5:30am. Fell back to sleep until woken up by a special lady who told me it was time to play golf.
Found two friends asleep in a bed together with a box of Cheez Its. Coffee, champagne, and Fireball before heading to range to warm up. Saw three golf balls while warming up. Closed one eye to figure out which one to play. Round went about as badly as one would expect under the circumstances.
Found someone in worse shape than me after the round. Talked him into playing a few holes for cash. Par, birdie, par, before missing a fifteen foot eagle putt and making another birdie. Collected $$$$$$ from opponent.
Went to bed at 7:15pm. Slept 12 hours. Going to get a massage to loosen up before filming a commercial for Golf Channel this afternoon.
Overall, about average weekend.

Fri: Drinks after work with coworkers. Pizza for dinner. B.
Sat: Up fairly early and spent most of the day at my parents' house doing yard work. Cut down a bunch of shrubs and tore out 8 stumps. It wore me out. Back home mid-afternoon and skipped a neighborhood cookout because I was too tired to wrangle the toddler for it. Wife of got off of work and we went to supper club. Theme was "belated Kentucky Derby." Excellent food as always. A.
Sun: Church, grocery store, watched son of. Did yard work while he napped. Wife off got off of work and the three of us went to a large nursery outside of town and bought some plants for the yard. It was HOT so we rewarded son of with ice cream on the way home. Laid out plants, got a few in the ground, and grilled pork chops, corn, and broccoli for dinner. In bed early. A.

Not really the best.

Started out chitty, and well that kinda hung around all weekend and probably will for a while until I can figure a way out of it.
Not really a new feature lately, but it's become obvious that my life has become a very noticeable and disturbing trend of events randomly, explicitly, blowing up in my face like a cheap roman candle wrapped in a box full of diarrhea. And I'm tired of it. I'm tired of trying to plan for every event, and then being bitchslapped by the one unplannable, unimaginable thing. It's exhausting, and soul sucking.
I try not bother anyone else in life, and I'm narrowing that down to be the biggest problem. Maybe I need to get on the offensive? Maybe I need to be that guy that's out to get everyone simply because I can? It would seem many others are. Who knows.
I'm not going to get into any detail about all this yet, but...just be careful out there. I never used to believe this, but someone probably IS out to get you behind every corner, whether you know it or not.
Anyway, Weekend started on Friday morning 'cause took a day off, signed closing papers on a house, helped a buddy put brakes on his boat trailer, had dinner with some of my wife's friends Saturday, and saw a good band yesterday.
And here I am. I'm sure this all makes a copy/pasta. I mean, why wouldn't it?

I tried getting really drunk Friday night and that didn't seem to work. I just excessively over focused and fretted and worried and came up with even more possible doomsday scenarios.
I did figure out that going underground as a paid assassin could be a possible career choice. I am a an excellent long range shot, and I already hate people, so all I need is a sniper rifle with a suppressor and some wind tables.

Quiet night Friday.
Saturday I checked out a ride-on mower at a shop around the corner. Getting a steep discount due to demo model. Did a Home Depot run, picked up pizza and wings on the way home, and did some yard work. Decided to try some theater-at-home action and purchased The Northman. Recommend.
Yesterday did some more yard work and then rode the motorcycle up to a dispensary. Mostly just wanted to check it out and see how it works. Bought a 1/4, which will probably last me to 2023. Took country roads there and back. Some of the most fun I've had in a long time. Smoked some drumsticks for dinner and had a quiet night.

Wife not happy that we finished 3 hours before her and spent rest of time acting busy by cutting any random scrap wood and box we could find.

Took the boat up to Big Water/JR Cash's for lunch Saturday, it's just as good as it was last year surprisingly. Filled the boat up to the tune of $5.80 a gallon, that stung. Got sunburned as a MFer for the first time this year. Cruised around a little Sunday, littlelakebum was still worn out from Saturday so didn't stay too long.
Drank beer in the driveway the rest of the afternoon and chatted with neighbors, was a nice change of pace from coming in at 7pm, rushing to get the boy bathed and in bed. Now the countdown to Memorial day weekend begins.

Good if a little weird...

Friday night wife of still coping with our daughter having gone off to Germany for the summer and not being a short drive or flight away for a while. We took son of to an 8th grade dance and had dinner at Longhorn's (across the street from the school) which was significantly better than I remember. Picked up son and went home. Wife's mood improved enough for some sexy time before bed. Started meh, ended great.
Saturday the pep talks given Friday kicked in and we got freaky again before 3 year old woke up. Then had coffee and made breakfast for the 3 year old and the 13 year old and went for a long walk while they ate. Got back and got dressed to go to a memorial service in Florence for a friend's mom who died. Went to the service then Dropped son of off at his dad's and took wife to Bird's Nest for lunch. Was pretty good but noticed at the time they had a nice bar. Had a fun lunch and then headed to Wife's friends house so Wife could go to MomProm for Cystic Fibrosis. Wife's friend's husband was going on a motocross ride, and I was solo for the night. Headed to The dispensary for a drink - closed for a private party. Headed to Southern Hops thinking they would have live music. Realized their bar sucked and headed BACK to downtown. Bird's Nest again, Dry Martini and a mushroom swiss burger. Great burger. Then walked around downtown for 5 minutes and headed to Victor's for another drink. Called my mom back from a missed call earlier and found out my grandmother was in Hospice. Had an old fashioned but they call it a Norwood. Casually listened to a much younger woman hang on a flirt with an older man and then went to pick up wife from Florence Country Club and back home. Paid babysitter, watched SNL while wife fell asleep. SNL sucked so went to bed after running dogs out.
Sunday, up reasonably early, fooled around with wife and then checked in with Mom about grandmom. Still hanging on, still didn't recognize anyone (dementia). On call for mom, but went to exercise. Wife of called mom and asked her to dinner. Did yardwork and then entertained mom for a couple hours. Cooked smashburgers on carbon steel pan over outdoor burner and made griddled mushrooms to go with (Blackstone is out of commission until I get valves to convert back to propane) Mushroom swiss burgers, corn on the cob and chips were all the ####. Mom left and wife and I watched a movie. Wife went to go to bed and I took the dogs out and noticed the extent of the lunar eclipse. Got wife out of bed to watch. Oohed and ahhhed and then she went back to bed. I went and laid in the hammock to sip a small bourbon and look at the eclipsing blood moon. Realized that the combination of perfect temp, nice breeze and lack of mosquitos was going to put me to sleep so went to bed. Pretty great weekend all around except for Mom having to deal with the death of her Mom.
She died at 2AM this morning and I am mostly relieved. She was a beautiful, sweet, kind and loving soul in life but dementia took her memory all the way away long before she passed. She was never mean, she kept her personality, but the confusion was maddening for her and everyone. She is in a much better place and hopefully my Grandfather met her on the other side and welcomed her home.

it's going to be interesting. Grandmom has been the thing sort of keeping mom occupied. After my parent's split my son was born and she was super into his life until my grandmother starting going down hill and then that took over her life. My uncle has pretty much left the hard part to her despite being the one my grandmother sort of left most stuff too. So we have helped as much as we can. Will be interested to see how she handles the loss of this purpose in life.
