Here’s how we compete with NIL

Dec 13, 2021, 12:30 PM

Get 50k tiger fans to pledge $1,000 annually to a fund/nonprofit (i.e. coots garnet trust, Texas horns with hearts). Recruit the best 22 players we can get every year and guarantee them $568k annually from this fund alone, not including any other NIL deals they make. Isn’t this essentially what everyone else is doing?? Sign me up! It’s worth that to me to see Clemson fb relevant on the grand stage. Check my math. What are we waiting on? Why are we behind the eight ball here ?? I thought grassroots organization was our strength!

Not ideal for all I’m aware, but to be sure we can get 50k diehard fans nationwide to pony up a grand

There can be no pay for play under the rules...

Dec 13, 2021, 12:40 PM

but we will see how it all shakes out...

"The BYU and Miami deals have been viewed by others in the compliance space as NCAA gut checks, effectively daring the weakened and besieged governing body to take an increasingly unpopular—and, perhaps, illegally anti competitive—stand against athletes earning money while they play."

But these nonprofits like at SUC and Texas will pay under the guise of advertisement/spokesman not pay to play. It’s a slippery slope. Yes it’s slimy even. But it’s time to lead, follow, or get out the way. Kids and parents will still love Dabo and the Clemson culture… but not as much as the almighty $$. We can’t stay in the game when others are playing by different rules

Sounds good but, I would have to rob someone to come up with a $Grand as a one time gift, and I would have to become a professional crook to have that kind of $$$$ annually.;)

I'm sure that more than 50K fans already pledge $1000 or more to IPTAY every year. Let IPTAY fund your proposal.

That’s the rub. Aren’t they the official booster club and tied into the university? Got to go around our thumb

It would be much easier to get a couple of billionaires to pony up for everything. Good luck finding some Clemson loving billionaires though.
