Pointing that out doesn’t make you crazy or wrong. It’s pointing out the obvious and it’s called an analogy. An example of other people being split and polarized because half are stupid and blind and ignorant and brainwashed. Dabo lovers are like Democrats. They are members of a cult!
I am a Clemson graduate. I played on the hill in the 70s and went to Clemson football camp. Been a member of IPTAY for decades. Clemson is the only school I applied to. I love Clemson. My loyalties are to Clemson. And my loyalty is not blind, nor ignorant.
But I am an objective and constructive critic of players and coaches like anyone with the slightest objectivity and two brain cells and working eyeballs.
Not being a blindly loyal cultist and being an objective critic does not make me an idiot or a coot or anything else. It’s called common sense and rationality.
Real friends, family that loves you, fans that want what’s best for the program, none of these people are apologists. None of these people are enablers. They are objective critics. As they should be!

Your team? Loyalty is a big Clemson trait going back 100 plus years. Mistakes are part of the game. But undue crazy criticism that has appeared on this board this year are weak. Dabo knows the program and will find a way to fix it. It is his job. He may not do it on your time table but who cares about that.

The problem with the ‘Dabo does not know what he is doing’ crowd is the obvious lack of understanding from among them about football and how college football programs are run.
The fail-safe sign of this crowd are their emotional outbursts after a loss in which they blame the QB &/or the coaches for everything that went bad in the loss.
These emotional non-thinkers are either too lazy to put in the effort to understand FB and FB program dynamics, or too stubborn to consider details which refute their emotionally centric beliefs.
Your ilk believe what your friends want you to believe. Popularity among your friends is more valuable to you than risking the unpopularity of being correct.
Therefore, the foolish yammering about all of the ‘sins’ being scape-goated onto the coach (or QB) keeps going on and on and on.

I’m not negative I just know what I see. I’m not anti-Clemson or a cultist whether that be a political one or a Dabo cultist. Why in the world some of you won’t/can’t/are afraid to admit that we are no longer elite is ridiculous. It’s so obvious. That should bother you if you care about this program. Best is not the standard right now.

Do you really care what they think or call us? I’ve always thought it was funny and obviously I don’t let it bother me but apparently it bothers you. Nothing I’ve said is with glee. It’s actually concerning to me to see a coach that won’t admit we have problems and that he has made some costly mistakes this year. I’m really glad we didn’t make the playoffs now after seeing how well those 4 teams played. We would have been embarrassed. We should not be in that spot right now. We should be able to hold our own with any of those teams.

Be a man and admit that Dabo has made mistakes.
Be a man and admit that promoting Goodwin and Conn to co-DCs was a mistake.
Be a man and admit that promoting Streeter to OC was a mistake.
Be a man and admit that we don’t develop players nearly as well as we used to.
Be a man and admit that we need to be using the transfer portal.
Be a man and admit that we aren’t the program we were a few years ago.
Absolutely support the team and cheer hard for them, and be grateful for what we’ve accomplished. But do that while acknowledging that we have some major issues that need to be addressed.

No one has ever suggested that Dabo is perfect. Maybe his overt stance on religion so insults your delicate sensibilities that your mind plays tricks on you. Who knows where or how you came up with that one.
Did you think our D was bad this year? In your opinion, was there improvement in the defense’s performance as the season progressed? Unless you have sound reasoning about our defense being poor and also regressing, then your ‘Conn no good / Goodwin no good’ assertions are groundless.
Did our offense play better and score (many more points this year? Of course our O was much better. Is that your basis for wishing Streeter to go away?
Player development is as good, maybe better, than ever. (With a few exceptions, our current team does not enjoy the true top-end talent that we enjoyed two or three years ago.)
Transfer portal. This is long and complicated, so I’ll keep it brief here. We don’t publicize our activities in the portal. However, it should be known by anyone paying attention that we were in the running … but did not succeed in getting … former UVA center Olutawami. He ended up at MI and had an All American season. Don’t say that we don’t selectively seek out top end talent via the portal.
Our program has not made the CFP in two consecutive seasons. During our ascension from 2011 through 2014 (inclusive), we also were not a CFP caliber team. During that sweet spot from 2015 through 2020 (inclusively), we had generational talent at QB, left tackle, WR, RB, DT, and DB. We also had numerous NFLCaliber players at LB and OG positions to accessorize our generational talent. Only the ‘our self esteem is built upon participation trophy’ spoiled brats are those who throw tantrums when we don’t make the CFP and bemoan the ‘decline’ of our FB program. Perspective is important to have.
In summary, you are way way way off base with your ‘major issues’ comments. Keep in trying to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, will you?

lol at the TDs - case in point to you’re post. I didn’t come on here at all today because I knew the coots and armchair coaches/qbs wood be out in force. Wussies works. A-jolés describes them, too.
As for me, I flushed this season - yeah right, 11-3 and it's a disappointment?! But we’ll be back in the mix next year. Our Tigers busted #### against the vols. Things didn’t go our way. But hail, they’re still MY TIGERS!

Most people are just pointing out the mistakes that have been made.
If you think this is bad, picture Bama, Ohio State or UGA stringing together a couple of seasons like we have had. Heck, Day has taken Ohio State to the playoffs every single year he’s been there and they’re already calling for his head
It’s not like it was 10 years ago when we were the underdogs. Clemson is expected to be there every year. Once you get a taste of it, you expect nothing less

I don’t always agree with JK and his defense of Brownell who I think should have been gone awhile back BUT I do agree with many of his points about the football program. Yes he favors basketball like I favor football but he makes good points that make sense. Just because I think Dabo has made some bad decisions recently doesn’t mean I don’t like him or love Clemson.

Are you really that ignorant about the financial resources of Clemson vis a vis the schools like USC, MI, OH State, Penn State, Oregon, Miami, Notre Dame, Tx, OK, and nearly all of the SEC programs?
