There are several issues with the offense on multiple layers

Dec 29, 2021, 10:06 PM

1. The Qb and WR timing is obviously off. Have the receivers adapted at all to DJ’s timing Vs TL’s timing? The receivers and DJ have not been on the same page with one another all season long.

2. Creativity from the offensive coordinators. Are you telling me that as bad as the QB play is, all we can conjure up is a couple of speed options, a draw up the middle into the teeth of the defense and a WR screen here and there?

3. This is one of the most critical issue and needs to be addressed in order to fix both of the above issues.
Recruit, recruit, recruit highly rated, heavy offensive lineman. We have dropped off on this and now with other schools implementing a glorified payroll for offensive linemen maybe would should look to do the same kind of “charity” for offensive linemen payroll ( maybe defensive linemen too). If we don’t we will be left behind.

DJ has had his fair share of issues, but WRs have been a revolving inconsistent door all year. We had what, two scholarship WRs play today and both were true freshman? That’s not a recipe for success.

Injuries, no continuity worked against DJ

Didn’t have same line or same WR much of year. Sprinkle in his own injuries and sophomore slump and we did well to win 10 games.

Did you see Minnesota's O line last night? They average 330 pounds. Their first TD was scored by an O tackle in the fullback position the way we used to use Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence. Believe it or not, Minnesota's guy is 6'9" and 380 pounds!

Yep. A sense of creativity, even with bad QB play. You can still create plays to get the ball to playmakers.

DJ has never showed he possessed any anticipation or timing ever. Someone please post a link showing me DJ throwing before a receiver breaks and anticipating where the receiver is going. He's about to be a junior and I have never seen it. Not once. Heck Cade is already doing this in high school. DJ just doesn't have the mental ability to beat a team with his arm.
