A statement I found interesting from brownell's presser

Apr 16, 2022, 12:47 PM

"I have obligations to help guys on my staff get jobs. I have some guys on my staff trying to do other things"

It was something like that. I'm sure most of you didn't listen because you don't care. I thought that was a weird statement and kind of led me to believe at least 1 other coach was leaving.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kareem was pushed out. Why would he go to a less stable school with less talent coming back?

2024 purple level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are they really less stable?

Apr 16, 2022, 12:56 PM

Both coaches are in a perform or go position

Yes, they are less stable.

2024 purple level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NC State is a less stable basketball program than us??

Apr 16, 2022, 2:14 PM

Which university has basically you said you have one more year to accomplish more than you have?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did you keep up with basketball this year? NCST's head...

Apr 16, 2022, 2:18 PM

coach is on a hotter seat than Brownell. NCST finished dead last in the ACC last year. They had 4 wins in the conference.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes. Both coaches are in a win or go situation.

Apr 16, 2022, 2:36 PM

What's different?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lets see...Maybe that NCST has never lost...

Apr 16, 2022, 3:38 PM

21 games in the history of their program??? Next closest was 19 almost 30 years ago.

They are a train wreck.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes of course, but like the dude at NC State..

Apr 16, 2022, 4:39 PM

Our coach has one more year to fix things. The seats are equally as hot

“press conference”

A presser is someone who irons your clothes. Please quit being lazy and taking millennial short cuts.

LOL Neff didn't even watch all of Brad's presser according to his interview with D Hood. Guess he doesn't care either? You people are a trip.

How many family members does Brad have in Clemson?

Apr 16, 2022, 2:10 PM

These 3 or 4 Brad apologists a sound like the same people.

It’s also absolutely, 100% not his obligation. His obligation is to operate in the best interest of Clemson. If that includes off-loading a coach, so be it. But not one ounce of his energy should be helping other guys who want to “do other things.” Again, the more they speak the more the rot around this program is being exposed. It’s embarrassing he would say and it’s embarrassing you think it’s worth repeating.

If someone was working for me, and they said they would like to go somewhere else, or if I was letting them go, I would say good luck, or good bye, just that simple!!!

Maybe Brad is a nicer person than you?

If you had a working relationship with someone and you decided to go separate ways, you wouldn't be a reference, or take calls from other prospective employers?

I think the point was, if they want to go, then go.

I agree with this point. And if you tell them to go but still respect them, then you help them get another job.

I think we’re reaching the point of arguing to argue, but there is a big difference between offering a positive reference and actually spending time helping someone decide where to go and what to do. Brad seems to imply he is spending time in his official capacity as the head of Clemson’s men’s basketball consulting current employees on decisions that not only don’t benefit Clemson, but benefit our rivals. I’m also pretty sure references don’t mean squat to these kind of jobs. These people all know each other. So it really just comes off as self-aggrandizement (“look at me - I get people hired!”) that is of no value to the program paying him millions.

Yes, which leads me to believe Kareem was pushed out. That was my whole point. If Kareem was looking for other jobs and got one, brownell wouldn't help him get another job....

If you wouldn't take calls/be a reference for one of your employees that you just pushed out, that's on you. It does make sense that you wouldn't though.

As someone has, in fact, done that I would never present it as “ I have obligations to help guys on my staff get jobs. I have some guys on my staff trying to do other things" The amount of time it takes to give a reference or take a phone call is negligible and not worth and not worth bringing up in this context.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

your avatar needs a regression line

Apr 16, 2022, 3:15 PM

the other day, one of the Brad cultists was saying something about how we need to not look at missing the tournament but look at the trend.

a linear regression of Brads # of wins over the 12 seasons (seemingly a significant amount of time to measure a trend) actually has a negative slope.

whoops.

If you want to cry about what brownell said and take it in the most negative way possible, then do it. That's what you do with everything BB related.

I thought the comment was very interesting and it may have indicated we are pushing coaches out in pursuit of better coaches. We will see in the coming weeks.

It seems you are the one arguing to argu.

Help them get lateral jobs for no pay increase? First one anyway, tbd on second. Interesting.

What are the numbers in Antonio's new contract? What was he getting paid at Clemson?

Same question for Kareem.

Their Salaries at Clemson were...

Apr 16, 2022, 2:15 PM

Richardson - $275,000

Antonio Reynolds Dean - $325,000

I doubt its been announced what they will make at their new locations but it likely won't be significant increases. Its not like they are leaving for Basketball powerhouses. I've found salaries for NCST's assistant coaches in 2020-21 basketball season and they were around 285,000 per year. Can probably assume they were making 300k-325k last year.

Yes, and my mount is that he doesn't have a clue. He is just being negative and dramatic per usual.

Quite possible that both coaches were pushed out.***
