Student Democrats preach inclusion and "all people are welcome" but then post this ridiculousness, trying to keep Conservative speaker Tomi Lahren from coming on campus. Really? It's this stuff that makes it hard to continue supporting this school financially.

We were getting close to MLK’s dream of a colorblind society and people being judged by their character rather than skin color. The race baiters panicked since their meal ticket was about to dry up. So they’ve been in overdrive to rake in millions if not billions with the BLM scam. Next up, reparations. Which won’t repair anything and no matter how many trillions are spent it will magically never be enough.

I am a liberal and I think that ridiculous as well. They should let the people speak so there can be open discussion and debate. Inclusion isn't needed to listen to someone speak. There are some people that don't deserve inclusion, but it's just hearing a different view while at an educational institution.

Some very sane, sensible words, CBad. I do believe the constitution guarantees anyone the right to express their opinions. If I don't like the opinions of others, I don't have to take them to heart. Many years ago, when my daughter was just a baby, we lived in a mobile home park. Right across the road from that park was a vacant field. One night, the klan had a rally in that field. I don't know a lot about them, but I'd heard they were some pretty mean spirited people. I sent my wife and baby to moms, while all this was going on, and I sat on the porch and listened to what was being said. It didn't take long for me to come to the conclusion, that nobody with a lick of common sense can buy whats being sold over there. Seems as if hate can be a very blinding thing. They had their opinion and I have mine, and ne'er the twain shall meet. Unfortunately, it looks like there is a lot of hate on both sides. Lately, I've seen news videos by liberal professors, commentators, and different lecturers, that while they weren't worded in the same way, the crap I heard at the rally was, they were every bit as hateful. They have an opinion that I don't buy into either. I'm a conservative, but I think there are a lot of liberal ideas that make plenty of sense. Does that make me a libertarian? I don't know. More than anything, I'm for common sense. We could use a lot more of that these days.

Shrug, free speech means you are allowed to denounce anyone to a point. And really, they are being REALLY smart about that statement. They disagree with Tomi's message and are not knuckle dragging ad hominem - which can be said by a lot current political figures. Very clever but likely missed by a lot of folks.
Now, if it was the administration saying this, it would be different but what do you expect from a political student org.....

They can say what they want, as is their right. They can show up and protest too, if that makes them feel better. I have absolutely no problem with dem students acting like dems. Or repub students acting like repubs. etc.
If the school decides that they will cancel speakers because they may say something that would trigger a student group, I would have a big problem with that. This goes both ways. If a liberal student group wanted to bring AOC to speak, I would expect conservative student groups would complain, but that wouldn’t mean she shouldn’t speak.
College is supposed to be a time to break out of your sheltered young life and open your mind to other viewpoints. That doesn’t mean you will agree, but part of growing up is being able to debate opposing views respectfully. We’ll have an entire generation that can’t handle hearing any views that they don’t hold...that is a scary thing. If you pay attention to social media, we may already be at that point.
We have to reverse the trend we are on where people with opposing viewpoints can’t communicate. Our entire way of life is at stake.
BTW, I don’t know (or care) who the person is that they’re complaining about or what she speaks about, I’ve only heard the name.

Always wanting you to believe that THEIR opinions are or should be viewed by everyone as gospel. That one sentence discredited their entire statement and is exactly what makes the left so very dangerous and damaging to society. They are not believers of free speech. Sounds like a peach; is she single? I don’t really care too much where she speaks, but if I had my druthers I would prefer that neither Libs nor conservative commentators be invited to speak on campus. There is no educational value in hearing someone rail against the other side be they left or right. If you think you are going to actually hear the truth about any of these complicated issues from one of these carnival barkers, then you’ve probably already made up your mind and you’re just there for affirmation. She’s not an elected official, educator, or even a journalist she describes herself as: a commentator, not a journalist, and that her shows are not about presenting news neutrally, but about commentary and "making the news". The constitution ensures free speech, but it doesn’t require anyone to subsidize it. If you want to spend your time fanning the flames let some private entity put on your clown show; whether you’re this person, Glen Beck, Rachel Maddie, or Anderson Cooper.
