The thought of Mike Bellamy made me wonder

Jul 23, 2016, 10:29 PM

Is Feaster as fast as he was. I am sure Bellamy was quicker, but top end speed I know Feaster is pretty fast. He is the SC 100m record holder, right?

Feaster is pretty quick too.***

I know Bellamy was a bit of a headcase .. but his true speed and talent were unmistakable .
Feaster looks like a burner in pads , so i'd call it a dead heat .

I was just watching both of their HS films. Bellamy looked quicker, but Feaster man, he catches it, runs it, breaks tackles, and is fast. He is also about 15 pounds heavier, and a couple of inches taller.

Feaster had the 2nd fastest 100m in the country last year

Jul 23, 2016, 11:40 PM

at one time. Don't know how long he held it, but he has truly elite speed. For all practical purposes, he's every bit as fast as Spiller, Bellamy, or anybody else we've ever had. Any difference would totally insignifigant.

Wonder what ever became of Bellamy. I know he bounced around a few small schools. What an opportunity he lost at Clemson.

"Track Speed" is over-rated in football ...

Jul 24, 2016, 9:19 AM [ in reply to Bellamy was Fl state 100m champ*** ]

... a football player doesn't use starting blocks, nor does he usually run in a straight line.

On the track, Jacoby Ford was demonstrably faster, but in pads on the field with the ball in his hands, CJ Spiller had the real football speed.

I'm thinking the difference is that Bellamy could take it

Jul 23, 2016, 11:49 PM

all the way if he found an opening, while Feaster may be able to create that opening. Featser should play at 20lbs more than Bellamy, is just as fast, and I think can make defenders miss just as well if not better. One qualifier: We have not actually seen Feaster play at this level, and there is no telling how he will respond. Based on talent and physical attributes alone, I'd say Feaster has a higher ceiling than Bellamy did.

For comparisons

Jul 24, 2016, 12:26 AM

I saw an article today from Tigernet that was posted over a year ago that Feaster ran a laser timed 4.34 at the opening. Spiller clocked 4.37 at the nfl combine. Feaster is real fast in other words

Too bad Hugh Freeze couldn't have been there for Mike.
