You're right, of course; but how is it that Henig--transitioning to male--is competing in the female events?
What am I missing?
Are all the events coed?
If so, that would make Thomas's accomplishments extremely more significant. But all the seconds are female, so that can't be so. So I'm back to--why is Henig allowed to compete with females?

I saw one article that said Henig has delayed taking hormones to continue competing with females for the time being.

Wouldn't male hormones be defined as "performance enhancers"? I wonder how much delay was required?
It's fairly obvious that Henig is--legally but unethically--manipulating the rules to gain a competitive advantage. If not, Henig would not have paused the conversion. Too bad for Henig, Thomas has outmanipulated Henig. I know they are friends, bonded over similar experiences, but friendship is small consolation for multiple gold medals and conference records.
