After reading one poster's comment about FGF, I just had to take a peak. LOL. Those jackwagons are in a furious tizzy about all of the positive press we are getting. To add insult to injury, they are outraged that we are ranked higher in the AP poll. All of this made my day. GO TIGERS!

Even if UGA didn't deserve to be #5, too late now. I didn't think they invested that much in the UNC win, but apparently they are using it as the litmus test for all offenses

Agreed - it was a strategic call - prevent the quick strike, knowing that they will score, but ensure that enough time is burned to allow for the "victory formation" by our offense.

I guess if we had beat SCar the last 4 years and they passed us in the polls without us losing, I would likely be annoyed but the great thing about our rivalry is there is always judgement day. We are feeling good now but we have to take care of business in November and none of it will matter.

on the MYTHICAL state championship. They know they don't matter as much as Clemson does nationwide and while CU needs to put an end to their little streak , winning the other 11 games will always carry more weight as to the way the national media looks at Clemson.

The truth is that the Gamecocks will always be jealous of the National attention Clemson receives, especially after Gameday comes to TigerTown. The Clemson gameday experience, the traditions, and overall atmosphere are the best in the country, and USuC/Cootlumbia/Willy Bryce isn't even close. They know that they will never match what we offer to fans, recruits, students and opposing fans, and they can't stand it. Even when they beat us, everything about Clemson is just better. It is jealousy that motivates the Coot obsession with Clemson. When you add the ranking and us jumping them in the polls, even though it doesn't really matter, they can't stand it.

We'll get an inkling of who's better when you guys play UGA this weekend. Of course using that logic is a bit flawed. We both played LSU last year and look who won that one. Guess doing the A > B > C doesn't always work.
Whenever I bring up that comparison to SCar fans they say that we had weeks to prepare for LSU. Well, they had the same number of weeks to prepare for us.

I waa being tongue in cheek about him saying everything is better at clemson even when we win. Technically, whoever wins can at least say they have the better team.
Agree with your post though. Saturday may give us some info but we will not know which team is better until november. Even if we knew it could change before we play.

I have no problem with the ranking. Teams who beat other good teams should jump up especially early in the season when one game is all you have to go by. My only problrm with the rankings is I think they shouldn't even come out until several weeks into the season. Since they do come out you have to give credit to what happens on the field. We are both 1-0. Because of who the competition was y'alls 1-0 looks better than ours. Either way, I think barring something unforeseen our records will be close enough that whoever wins in november ends up ranked higher.
I do wish they would wait a few weeks to release rankings though. Bama may be the best team but they were not the most impressive saturday. Why should they be ranked 1 just because a lot of people expect them to be the best? Its a new year. Everyone has new players. I think you need to see at least a small body of work before ranking teams.
