If you believe in greenhouse gasses, Biden is making it worse

Personally I think the oceans regulate the amount of co2 in the atmosphere and the sun drives the temperature, but that’s just me.

If he would do the opposite of every single instinct that he has; everything would be great.

Have the oceans been napping for the past 55 years, cause this doesn't look like "regulation". Explain.

What have the oceans been doing for the past 55 years? Why has the "regulation" ceased?

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The regulation hasn't ceased. The rise is natural. But you

Jul 4, 2022, 2:54 PM

know that, and your purpose here is to lie, troll, trigger, etc. So F off.

I see a trend going upward. Where is the regulation that you speak of? You apparently have got NADA.

Climate change fools think 55 yrs = geologically meaningful

Jul 4, 2022, 9:41 PM [ in reply to The regulation hasn't ceased. The rise is natural. But you ]

Tom, as you and others who graduated (legitimately) from High School know, 55 years is but a blink of time from the geological / atmospheric perspective.

Let's hope that some of TNet's eager (but ill-informed) posters learn something from these posts, and endeavor to do something with their brains instead of thinking up weak insults to those who possess critical thinking skills.

Do you see any "regulation" in than chart, or do you see a significant increase that happens at the same time of increased burning of fossil fuels? I'll wait for an educated response.

Here's your "zoom out". You were saying?

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly, the slope is much slighter when you zoom out. Now

Jul 5, 2022, 10:43 PM

zoom out even more, and look at how low current CO2 is compared with various points in the last 5000 years or so. Zoom out even more, and you'll see that we are far below the earth's highs in regards to CO2.

But the chart of CO2 over time doesn't really say anything about the cause of the CO2 level. However if you look at the CO2 level alongside the temperature level, you'll see that there's a close correlation over the entire timespan.

So, it is easy to see (again, zoomed out) that this is simply a correlation and shows nothing of causation whatsoever.

I would explain to you how the oceans respond to rising temperatures but I'm sure I'd be wasting my time, so never mind. I don't have the patience of RTD.

The trends say we should be going down now, but instead, it's skyrocketing up. Wgere's this regulation you speak of?

Jul 4, 2022, 9:37 PM [ in reply to Re: If you believe in greenhouse gasses, Biden is making it worse ]

I see that you're trying, that's a good start.

Solar cycles typically run in ~ 100 year periods; the cycle is represented in trigonometrical as a sine wave. Climate scientists have recognized this as a phenomenon since ~ birth of Christ.

So they have ~ 20 data points which confirm periods of rising earth climate as being correlated to higher climatic temperatures. For 19 of their 20 data points, the local maximum (which is a calculus term to describe the peak of the sine wave) correlated to higher global temperatures.

Unfortunately, climate scientists have chosen to ignore the solar cycle of ~ 150 years that took place between ~ 925 AD and ~ 1075 AD.

This 'inconvenient fact' ... 5% of their data doesn't support their ~ 100 year 'conclusion' of the solar cycle ... renders their assertions that CO2 levels are the cause of the current solar cycle as an unproven hypothesis.

Oh yes, and the current solar cycle is approaching its local maximum period ... if indeed you ascribe to the 100 year solar cycle theory. (Remember, back in 925 to 1025 the solar cycle lasted 150 years ... per the climate scientists own data.)

Where was the man-made CO2 coming from during each ~ 100 year solar cycle since the birth of Christ during which the Earth had gotten measurably warmer?

Birm is going to hate this

Jul 6, 2022, 7:58 AM [ in reply to Re: If you believe in greenhouse gasses, Biden is making it worse ]

"In 2021, emissions in the U.S. increased mostly because of increased coal use, *not* because of higher econ growth. Why? Because nat gas became more expensive. Why? Because of inadequate supply. Why? Chronic 'under-investment in production & pipelines, thanks to ESG & climate activists,'" he wrote recently.

Re: If you believe in greenhouse gasses, Biden is making it worse

Jul 4, 2022, 9:23 PM

You've got it correct, and have the ability to say it concisely. (When I give details about why you're right, everyone gets bored.)

BTW, there is also a highly likely huge contribution to climate variation from the inner earth (i.e., minor fluctuations in the flow / turbulence in the magma layers which, because of their enormous overall influence on the world's temperature, those 'minor variations' in subterranean earth make meaningful contributions to climate change).

But yes, the solar cycles of the sun are the known biggest factor of climate change.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah that's fascinating to me

Jul 4, 2022, 11:43 PM

the idea that the core of the earth is like molten iron or possibly even matter in a 4th phase or whatnot.... I haven't read about it in a while but I remember whenever I did it was really interesting. All hypothetical but pretty decent logical deduction.

Anyway, the fact that that much energy exists within the earth makes it amazing that the crust is so relatively peaceful.

What's your explanation for the 25% increase in CO2 levels over the past century?

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: If you believe in greenhouse gasses, Biden is making it worse

Jul 5, 2022, 9:47 PM

Sure, there's been a big increase in (relative) amounts of CO2 over the past century.

And this is largely man-made CO2. Also, increasing levels of CO2 make an incremental (that means small) contribution to a warmer climate.

But the real drivers of climate change (both warming and cooling) are the variations in solar output (that means, the sun's energy); overlooked by nevertheless obvious are subterranean variations (that means primarily earthquakes ... including those which occur deep beneath the ocean's floor).

The energy hitting the earth from the sun is so enormous, and the energy which keeps the earth warm from subterranean heat, are enormous when compared to the contribution from CO2.

Imagine pulling a 10 ton wagon with two full sized elephants. Each elephant can pull ~ 6.5 tons apiece.

Imagine also adding a big healthy Rottweiler to the elephants that are pulling the wagon. The Rottweiler can contribute ~ 0.5 tons of pulling power.

The sun and the subterranean heat are the elephants. CO2 is the Rottweiler.

In the scheme of things, the contribution to climate change from CO2 is a rounding error.

Re: If you believe in greenhouse gasses, Biden is making it worse

Correct! Oceans and cloud cover regulate CO2 and the sun only drive temperatures.
