The real sad truth in all of this is

Apr 14, 2020, 2:38 PM

Some of you won't give anyone credit where credit is due regardless of truth because of what letter comes after their name on your favorite "news outlet", and some of you won't criticize someone when they should be criticized because of what letter comes after their name on your favorite "news outlet"..

It'd be laughable if it wasn't so sad. In the meantime, every federal, state, and local government is drunk with the power they are taking, and people are just fine with it.. Because we're all stupid..

GO TIGERS!!

I'm shocked how many people actually watch 'news' shows

Apr 14, 2020, 3:10 PM

Who has the time or patience for that?

Except for a few local politicians that I've worked with, I pretty much dislike every politician.

The credit/blame mindset is not generally healthy

Apr 14, 2020, 3:30 PM

in a crisis situation. Who cares who gets credit or blame for things? All that matters is that fewer people die.

It is surprising how little fear it took for us to turn to

Apr 14, 2020, 4:09 PM

someone else and say, "Fix me", giving up every individual freedom we have if necessary, dumping 80% of the horrific cost of onto the youngest of us, and then blaming anyone and everyone for things under no one's control, and which were perhaps purposely sent to us. The first hint of fear, and we were hands up, white flag waving.

Not sure anybody is surrendering nor asking to be saved. All I ask for is the opportunity to purchase required supplies to do what is necessary to protect myself. If you think a Federal response to the pandemic is not warranted then why pay taxes?

Yes, thing is the FED also does national disasters too . That is what he fails to grasp.

If you're not sure, tune to cnn. They are selling fear 24/7.

Sweden is going about it the right way, imo. Sequester the at risk demographic, let the low risk, at their choice, carry on. The country keeps going, risks are held to minimum, what risk taken is at each person's choice. We instead are all bunkered down hoping the virus will go away, which every doc tells us it wont do, then blaming politicians when it doesn't. Total fear.

No, what is occuring is an attemt to keep hospitals from being over run, simple as that. In addition to allow for N95 masks, sanitizers and wipes to be produced. Our response has been predicated by a total lack of readiness and until we get ahead of the curve on production/distribution we are playing catchup.

Mission accomplished. Not one person who needed a bed

Apr 15, 2020, 1:43 PM

or a ventilator has failed to get one, and rather than overrun hospitals we have them closing or sending staff and nurses home.

These are very extreme statements.

I don't feel like I have remotely "given up every individual freedom", and I'm certainly not motivated by fear.

To me, it's more of an attitude of fear to think the country is caving in and our liberties being destroyed because of some temporary restrictions on our activities. We'll be fine.
