Seems almost nobody on this bored favors any expansion scenario beyond 6-8 teams, so why, then, is NCAA confident enough in a 12-team suggestion to throw it out there like a grenade?

Answer: they will “acquiesce” to public demands and “back off” from their initial 12-team proposal to an 8-team format. It’s a total psychology job to get everybody to believe they’ve somehow tempered the demands of the powers that be. They fully intend to expand to 8 teams but they have to play games to get their way. And they have to get their way to justify their own largesse and appease all parties holding the purse strings…

The committee is set on 12 teams. We'll simply have to get used to it. And it will simply turn into another ESPN "Final Four" NCAA tournament. It's all about the "Golden Rule".

I’m down for 12 teams. More games, more variety, more money for Clemson, maybe less ND (they can’t win a conference).
