The one thing that the Coots could do that for sure would

help them, is the one thing they would never do.
Fire Cocky, and change to an actual sports mascot that can strike fear into the heart of an opponent. Who is really scared of a chicken, even if it was foaming at the beak?
Ill give them a great suggestion for free. Catamounts. Carolina Catamounts. It rolls trippingly off the tongue, and a Cougar can certainly be a scary animal, especially late at night around closing time in bars.

And changing their colors from something so dark and dreary would help them too I think. But you are right. They will never change because they are idiots.

And to think, that guy is immediately followed up by the sound of that rooster crowing. I have to wonder how many recruits have come to visit for a game, heard that, and right away went "NOPE!!"

And conversely, if you have ever heard a wild cougar

scream, I guarantee you, it will make the hair on your arms stand up. And, you WILL be scared. (I heard one ONCE, many many years ago while out deer hunting, not likely that I will ever forget it. Thank goodness, it was across about a 10 acre field away from me. I quickly decided that deer hunting could wait for another day, and vacated the premises.)

Bobcats too! They’ve been good luck for me hunting though.

heard this unholy racket coming from behind his house. It turned out to be TWO bobcats fighting in a tree just off his backyard. He won the fight for them both with a pistol. But, before he shot them, there was literally fur flying on the breeze. They were good sized bobcats, too.
