The one group I'm starting to hate more than coots...

are the UNC sympathizers and apologists. On one hand they pump "Carolina Way! Carolina Way! We're better than you! Academics! Research! Athletics! Tradition! Championships!" While at the same time they have an excuse (or blind eye) or explanation for all of the allegations that have slowly been brought to light over the past few years with the cheating scandal. For what seems to be a growing number, the self induced penalties seem to make everything OK. "Hey we fixed it! Look!" But as I was saying... the cheating, fake classes, under-the-table privileges for athletes, scumbag holier than thou coaches all completely undermine what "The Carolina Way" stands for. You can't have both. So I'm calling it now. The "Carolina Way" is dead.
My dilemma will be on 9/3. Gamecocks or Tarheels. That's a tough one. Any Near Earth Objects making a pass by Charlotte in early September?

Not a dilemma

Rule 1: Never ever pull for the coots in anything. Never, Never, Never. No way...No how...not going to happen. This includes all sporting events and academic competitions. This includes everything not a sporting event or academic competition. Just say no...
Rule 2: See rule #1

EXACTLY!!!! It's easy for me. I'll wear my Citadel Blue on 9/3 in hopes it will help the blue bellies beat the coots. Hate the coots. Always will.

I hate the TarHeels too, but I'd rather them win over the coots anyday. Plus, and though I'm not into conferences (I think they all need to be blown up), in the world we live in today, I have to root for the ACC over the SEC every single time. Yep, that means if it was the Noles vs. Coots, I'm going for the Noles. Sucks, but it is what it is.

from unc fans (and the vast majority of the media) about the basketball streak in ch as they exhorted their team on to victory and maintenance of the unbeaten streak.....all the while using gawd knows how many INELIGIBLE players. Having lived in the Triangle area for well over 20 years and listening to their unending drivel (unfortunately, I started grad school there in '83 while Clemson's probation headlines were still fresh)....I'll no longer observe the forms of polite society. The chickens (sheep) have come home to roost along Franklin St.... No unc fan will ever be safe again from the possibility (nay, likelihood) that the details of this galactic academic/athletic fraud scandal will be mentioned by me in the exact wrong time and wrong place.
Payback is going to make Hades seem like an English tea party.

LMAO! "Near Earth objects." I agree with you. That's a tough one for me too. However, my need for USuC to lose to ACC teams and the hatred I have for them in my blood kinda trumps my hatred for UNCheat for the time being. I hope UNCheat hangs 80 on the coots in this one.

If you're truly undecided as to who to pull for in the UNCheat/USUC game, then just pull for the ACC.
ACC! ACC! ACC! - I think that's the chant, or something like that.

After living 20 years in Chapel Hill west (Greensboro, NC) am hoping UNC goes 1-11 and Gamecocks go 0-12.
