The Olympics

Not a Clemson issue but NBC or any other network needs to quit funding the olympics, another amateur sport that has gone to hell. It may be time to make all sports professional, even high school. When is congress going to wake up, stop the in fighting and focus on matters of national issues that impact day to day americans.

Sponsors fund networks and most Olympic athletes are professionals.

Sorry about the rant, just read the article on the 15 year old Russian skater who was allowed to skate even though she failed her covid test because it may be construed as a prejudice act against a minor. I'm just too old for this stuff.

China and Russia are now in bed together. If this kid wins a medal, the U.S. should pull out of the
Olympics in the future but it won't happen. We have spineless people in D.C. now.

Agree it is political and the Russian skater was taking a performance enhancing drug when Russia is already on probation for that. I quit watching it this year because of all the political BS.

I watched a documentary about the East Germans and Soviet Union doping during the Cold War Olympics. They were actually doping 14 and 15 year olds. You have to add China in this group of a country supporting and hiding the fact they were doping. Plus their athletes were professional’s. This why is was great when the US Hockey Team ( a bunch of college kids ) beat the professionals on the Soviet team in 1980.

I was happy when the US evened the playing field buy allowing US athletes to accept sponsorship’s.

The Olympics were supposed to help unite nations together but instead they have become something else that divide us because of politics.
