The Military needs your help

Mar 13, 2013, 8:09 AM

If you have not already heard due to the budget cuts for the government they have suspended all Tuition Assistance for active duty Airmen, Marines, and Soldiers. This is the program that helps pay for these service members college courses if they take some during their enlistment. I feel like everyone of these brave young men and women deserve this benefit for serving this country with honor and dignity. If you feel the same way please go to this website and sign this petition. It will ask for your name and email I believe. This is not a scam and you can tell because this is a .gov website. Thanks for the help and please share!

Our aid to Egypt israelly ridiculous.

Mar 13, 2013, 8:39 AM

Why do they need fighter planes? Who are they going fight? I do not support aid to Israel either, since they are a strong economy perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. However, giving fighter jets to a neighboring country that is becoming more and more belligerent to on of our client states seems the definition of self defeating.

It is corporate welfare to a defense contractor, little more.

Most of our military budget is corporate welfare. All the

Why blame Obama? Congress controls the budget.

It's up to Congress to fix this mess.

The Constitution states that the budget starts in the House.

Mar 13, 2013, 10:16 AM

The House is gridlocked and trying to punt on first down.

The House has passed a budget each of the past 4 years, The Senate has refused to even bring it to the floor for a vote
With the views of the WH of my way or no way, is the reason of why its now the way it is.
Yes the house writes the checks, they are now standing their ground, Air Force 1 has not logged many miles since March 1st

to sit back and do nothing that might antagonize the tea party extremists who view compromise as a dirty word, even though our system is built on compromise.

It seems to me that trained personnel in the military is

the most important element of preparedness, particularly among the NCO and sergeants. Keeping them in uniform and trained is more important than a lot of stuff the Pentagon buys. If the shiite hits the fan, factories can always crank out more arms than boot camps can crank out seasoned soldiers.

Trips for the Pres and his family. He's just trying to cut

Mar 14, 2013, 8:20 AM

some very visible things that people don't want cut so folks pressure Congress and they cave an increase spending. They would not want to actually make any actual needed cuts!
