It's also late October.

People seem to always complain about the grass mid to late season, maybe we should put in some of that GT turf

You are correct about the October comment. We had cooler than average September nights which took some color out of the Bermuda grass. The rye is young and not matured yet. Also, the 80 degree days this week was not great on the young rye. The field will look much better next game.

We played 3 straight weeks at home before the GT game last week.

carolina had played 1 home game 3 weeks before the Auburn game last week

UGA has also only played 2 home games so far

I'm assuming its the rough patches of grass between the hash marks that y'all have issues with, and more home games = more wear and tear

Been wondering that now for several years compared to other schools. Haven't even had freezing temps yet. I have seen high school fields that look better.

I see no reason they can not paint all the rest of the grass a brighter green. This looks terrible.

Happy fingers on that first post. Oops!! I was going to say that with so much artificial turf out there people forget that transitioning a field from actively growing Bermuda grass to rye grass can be tricky in October. The field is fine. The turf manager is my neighbor and one of the best in the business. Field will look a lot better next game.
