The Feds need to seriously investigate NFL refs

Oct 15, 2019, 1:38 AM

It is completely possible, I say very likely, that there are either rogue refs on the take or there is corruption at high levels of the league. There's too much dirty money involved. The lines are so tight in most NFL games that call or two at a crucial moment could swing hundreds of millions of dollars on a game. It's estimated that around $6 billion was bet worldwide on last year's super bowl. Putting a couple million in a crew's pocket would be pocket change for sports books. These calls are just getting too weird.

Isn't the goal of the line in betting, is to get an equal

amount bet on both sides of the line?? So the betting houses make their money, regardless of which team you bet on.

The line moved from GB -6 to GB -3.5

There are lots of gamblers out there that took the Lions and 6 points, then turned around and also bet the Packers giving 3.5. How much money did Las Vegas save when Green Bay refused to score a TD when the Lions were trying to let them score to get the ball back. Had he scored a TD then, Vegas would've lost their ##### had the score ended up being 27-22 instead of 23-22 and them having to pay both ends of the line.

The game had NBA style point shaving written all over it.

Of all the problems in the world how a football game bet goes has to be on the very very bottom of the list of priorities.

I watched some documentaries and read some articles that NFL games are fixed to a certain point. For example to help Tom Brady break a passing record, or for a RB to break a rushing or TD record. It was said this is endorsed at the highest level in the NFL for the sole purpose of entertainment value. It also said the NBA games were fixed too. The front office people stayed they were in the entertainment business and sometimes you have to manipulate games for that reason.

The officials control the game by penalties. IDK if all believe all that was said in the documentaries but I believe there is some truth to it as well. Who knows what Etc.. IDK but this is why I refuse to watch the NFL or the NBA.

The public outcry to clean up the leagues is the only reason they have addressed domestic violence and other related problems with star players.

Talk about weird; the Feds can't even investigate themselves.

Those were some bad calls, but it happens.

The real problem is no one is holding Roger Goodell

Oct 15, 2019, 9:05 AM

accountable for his 'pick and choose' method of holding others in the league accountable. It's been that way since he became commissioner. There is zero rhyme or reason to the way he addresses, or doesn't address, various issues. There's a reason he gets booed mercilessly everywhere he goes.

My point is, I don't doubt the NFL is fixed. I've thought that for a long time. But, the issues go way beyond the refs.

NFL refs would destroy their emails and devices

This is acceptable behavior in Washington for the FBI and the press. At least it used to be acceptable for the FBI under comey and his clowns.

Why would any sane person bet hard earned money on a sporting event that is meant for entertainment purposes only? All those tall, glittering buildings in the desert didn’t build themselves.

If you saw the Jets Dallas game they should be investigated

Oct 15, 2019, 10:27 AM

Especially last drive by Dallas - pass interference or holding on EVERY play

so glad Jerry Jones' birthday was ruined

If that were true then how do you explain the bad/no calls for both teams? You make about as much sense as booger did. SMH

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tim Donaghy should show you how real this is

Oct 15, 2019, 10:56 AM

Its not that every game is fixed or fixed at all in a traditional sense, but having refs or other officials involved in steering the outcomes of games has happened. Most betting is actually done illegally and I'm not talking about your buddy down the street that's a bookie that's the problem. Crime syndicates running numbers, huge amounts of cash in major cities is where the corruption is.

I’m not disputing the fact that it has/does happen from time to time or that those illegal hands to the face penalties were anything other than bs, but that game imo isn’t the best example because it was poorly called throughout for both teams. I think those two were just the results of poor officiating and decent acting.
